[TLA] Desolation (EU)
(edited by My Sweet Lily.1952)
So there is the build I’m currently using and I’d like to know how viable it is.
Weapons:
In PvE I mostly use Sword/dagger, dungeons Shortbow+sometimes Sword/dagger and in WvW Shortbow. All Zerker except for Shortbow, which is Soldiers (Legendary).
Armor:
Full zerker because I have no problems surviving. Runes of the Ranger for more crit and dmg.
Traits:
Marksmanship for power and Piercing Arrows.
Skirmishing for crit and pet buffs.
Wilderness Survival for more evades.
Beastmastery for pet buffs.
With Compassion Training the crits from Carnivorous Appetite heal more. And cats and birds crit often so they can heal themselves.
Skills:
Sick ’Em for dmg. Quickening Zephyr for stunbreaker and quickness. Signet of the Hunt for out of combat speed and incombat dmg (usually use it with bird F2). And Jaguar <3 when Stealth—> Sick ’Em—> QZ—> SotH.
In dungeons I swap SotH for Guard (10 sec protection with 12 sec CD) and Compassion Training trait for 20% shout recharge, so Sick ’Em will be ~30sec and Guard 12 sec.
In Fractals/lvl 80 dungeons Shortbow crits for ~1,1k dmg all the time and Sword ~1, 5k dmg. Those are without Might. Cat/bird crits are from 3k to 7k.

If that is the exact sequence of skill, is incorrect, because QZ will cancel Sick’Em. Any other skill that buff the pet, or order something to pet, will cancel Sick’Em. So you need to use that skill at the end of the chain
Btw the build is good and viable if you can survive in lvl80 dungeons and higher fractals. Doing good damage without dying every 10 sec is never wrong
Give a try to LB, i found it very effective in fractals, and with Piercing Arrows you can do a lot of damage (i’m a SB fan since the beta )
Hello ^^
Purely trait wise, it looks like a decent pet buff/your dmg output balance. I also switched to a more pet oriented build after the latest patch, just to see how viable pets actually are now; results have been pretty good so far if I may say so, still not perfect pet mechanics with no dodge, but an improvement nonetheless. My build ( http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fMAQJAVRnEV0FcVQKWwapAYpYvA7CYKOUxXhZ9HQ9ipKRC-jwxAYLAaDEVAI5VEN2ibR0Y11YKXioaA-e ) is a little different in the way that I build for more party play, especially with the fortifying bond, which, when I have warrs/guardians in my party, gives my pet like perma 25 stacks of might. Dem cats do insane amounts of dmg with it, especially combined with Sick Em. I am curious about the combined dmg output difference between our builds, tho. Could be interesting to do the math sometime :P
As for surviving, shouldn’t be a problem. I lvled my Ranger to FOTM lvl 80 with pure zerker gear and 30/30/10/0/0 traits, so anything goes if you know when to dodge. Defense<dodge, now if only pets were given the same option :P

Actually, this was fixed a few patches ago. Using any F skill will still remove the shout, but using QZ or any other skill like that won’t. Though not sure about other shouts, if they cancel each other :P.
