I did allot of testing with the core ranger lines since i dislike the design of the druid and this is the best non elite spec’d ranger build i managed. Made it to legend exclusively playing ranger with it this season, not that it reflects much since the ladder is just a glorified reward track but hey.

you have good stats so you can trade hits as well as good condi removal with the rune, signet, and trait. The pressure you put out is not on the level of a thief or revenant but is consistent and your burst potential is some of the highest in the game.

Basically when you want to go for the jugular you swap to great sword and swap pets, taunt the enemy you want dead with furious pounce (which has 1 sec cast so you need to make sure the taunt lands) follow up with a hilt bash and end it with a maul that hits just as your pet lands its f2. Your pet will deal 75% extra dmg from the trait and hilt bash and you will deal 25% more, with an additional 50% if you interrupt with hilt bash. If your target is still alive he will have 20 stacks of vulnerability on him so any follow up will hit hard.

In short you are a bruiser with some decent cc and a potent burst that has a rather short cd, tho your biggest burst requires hilt bash in order to grant the pet 50% dmg but you can do a burst every 8 sec with the tiger since remorseless has no cd.
Speaking of remorseless you can use your healing skill to trigger it if your pet has fury (it always has), when you swap pets, with any gs skill (hard to properly utilize since it is a random proc) from your elite, and obviously every 8 sec with the tiger (if you are near it) . When you use the elite it is best to just auto attack with the long bow from 1200 range as the auto attack hits hard. Other skills that are potent with remorseless are swoop and counter attack.

You can consider traiting for brutish seals but moc is just better as both of your signets have a strong passive effect so you seldom use them, usually when you get caught in a bad spot such as a condi bomb that you failed to avoid or as a last gambit to try and down another power build when you are low on hp. But both traits work just fine i just prefer moc.

Another ‘combo’ is using your elite skill and then casting barrage on a team fight. After a few sec use the healing skill for a instant 25 might stacks, also your pet will have 25 might. This is best used when you have a healbot ele or another support in said team fight because you are jumping in to it with a healing skill on cd.

Also you can cast swoop through the smoke field of smokescale in order to gain stealth (the leap part of swoop is the combo finisher so it is a bit clunky at times), also also if you ever use signet of renewal to clear a condi bomb from yourself or nearby teammates cast the f2 skill on smokescale and leave the pet in it or it will die (call the pet back and then use f2) or immediately swap pets because letting your pet die is bad.

see no evil ,until i stab you
