Hey everybody

I have a conflict with myself due the fact i’m rebuilding my ranger or better said i want to rebuild it.

status quo: Tyrian Survivalist
(the sigils might be wrong, can’t remember those)
based on a little pet use with condition damage. stacking might with “Rampage as one”

at one point of the game i thought this build is my build-to-be but now i’m not sure about that.

improvements wanted: I want to use my pet because it survives longer now. also i’m a bit addicted of condition damage.
My premier idea was to build myself to a condition (trapper) and use my pet for direct damage.
So far so good but the real problem is the armor. Because with only condition damage for myself i lack some damage and vice versa my pet lacks condition.

Possible armor attributes are Dire (to get as much survivability out as possible to outlive the foe) or Carrion (for more power myself)
Also the runes are difficult. My prefered runes are “Rune of the Undead”, “rune of Orrian” and “Rune of scavenging” and maybe “Rune of the Adventurer”

This could seem a really “unprofessional” build because it’s perhaps nothing common and a bit clumsy but that’s what i prefer.
Do you rangers have any ideas to improve my build? condition beastmaster. I’m open to everything but may react a little bit harsh because your improvement erases something i’m addicted to

regards Troopa

veteran ranger (main)- Troopa The Hawk – tyrian survivalist
veteran engineer – Whiteclaw Pete – flaming bastard
veteran guardian – Wolfborn Troopa – healing eagle

I can’t see your build (tried to copypaste the link and all). But by reading your post I’ve a few thoughts about it.

First, going for traps + BM leaves you with not enough points for WS, and Empathic Bond. That wouldn’t be a problem if you usually run with, let’s say a guardian cleaning your condis, or if you somehow manage to stand on Healing Spring during fights (which I don’t), but if not, and considering the current condi meta, not having condi removal is not a real option imo.

Second, if you build for condi dmg, then you shouldn’t be worrying about lack of power. And since condi dmg only benefits from condi duration, which you can get easily from food/runes, it gives you the option to focus on other important stats such as toughness and healing.

So I’d choose a mix of rabbid and apothecary over dire or carrion.

What are your weapon sets btw? Well, till I can see your build I can’t really say anything more ^^

ok then here are your infos

0/10 (VI)/30 (IV, VII, XII)/0/30(II, I, XI)
shortbow and sword with warhorn
current stats are rabid

my final goal is to create an uncommon build which is good or near as good in nearly any situation WvW, PvE Dungeon and not and PvP.
the only thing i like to accept changing are the offhand weapon or the primar weapon for a specific part and changing utilities.
anything else should stay.

I meant to say i lack direct damage. for example huge champion where thousand players are and you have to use your condition?

i made a prototype of a possible build: prototype I
hope you can see it now

P.S: maybe it works now

Still can’t :/

I really don’t believe in builds “good for nearly any situation”; specially not condi ones.
I wouldn’t go anything other than zerker for PvE in pretty much all situations (let alone using PVT for Tequatl, lol)
That said, condi BM ranger is pretty nice for solo roaming, that and PvP (with shaman’s amulet) worked nice for me.

But in the end, none of this matters as long as you are enjoying the game playing the way you like.
