Hello rangers,
this is my first post and i just wanna share what i have learned from the “endless loading screen” bug.
Short: Stop dying!
Long: Try to play the profession, which i still like most, correctly. I don’t wanna tell you how to play a ranger cause im not a pro gamer and i only played sPVP and not tPVP, cause not enough of my friends are interested in GW2. So, i have no idea if my thoughts are valid in tPVP matches against full premade teams. Right now im running a SB/Axe-Warhorn build (who doesn’t? ) with Survival Utility Skills based on power instead of condition dmg cause it increases my survivability (just my feeling).
So, what i learned:
Generall:
Don’t be the first one who enters a group fight with rest of my team is some meters behind me. I cant finish writing /dance in the chat before i die.
Use the terrain to your benefits. Ok, this is common, but it isn’t so easy to know what to do when. If i get MOAed i start running and try to hide which works most of the time and so on…
Don’t stand still, move all the time except noone has recognized you.
Run, always run if you get targeted in a group fight. Most of the bigger group fights happen on a capture point and sometimes it is possible to pull one or two opponents of the point. So, the rest of my team can start cleaning the point while some oppenents try to rush me down. Sometimes i can flee around a bigger obstacle and reenter the fight just a little bit later.
Always, really always try to res downed teammates. Also when its risky. The team needs alive players if the wanna win a non 1vs1 battle. I think its more importend in a group fight to ensure most of your teammates are alive instead of rushing an opponent down.
Avoid a 1vs2. It is possible to bring one opponent down but the second one will kill you. But i think this situation depends on your skill. For me it is impossible right now and i never won a 1vs2. Im always scared when i see a thief/mesmer combination is coming to the point im defending. Run forrest run!
Mesmer:
Only use the SB when you are sure he can’t put out some phatasm or clones in the next secs. Use the axe to hit his phatasm and clones too.
Run if you didn’t see the mesmer coming and you are still alive after his burst.
Thiefs:
Never ever try to fight a thief if you didn’t see him coming and you are still alive after his burst (sounds like mesmer?! -> yeah, but i still have no idea or build which can counter this two professions when the land their openers). If you see him coming, fight him cause 1vs1s against a thief are really intersting battles. And you or the thief will die.
Warrior:
Funny battles. Use doges and evades correctly and you can win. Make a mistake and you will lose.
Guardians:
Depends on the guardians build. If he plays a bunker guardian correctly i can’t bring him down, no chance. But he will also have a really hard time to bring me down. Battles can be funny or boring.
Elementalist:
Like guardians but a little bit more extrem if he uses a bunker build. We both live forever. Had some nice fights against bunker eles and none of us had less than 50% health.
Necros:
Always close ones. If he using a lot of minions, use axe primarly. Boring fights in my opinion. Sry necros but it is boring to fight against 2 or 3 health bars
Enginieer:
Nothing special. Just try to escape all the red circles around you. Really really funny!
Ranger:
Just show him how to play a ranger! HarHarHar
I know there are alot of points i have to work on:
Correct weapon switching and skill usage: when to use what. Example: Saving SB Poison Volley for the phase the opponent using healing skills.
Pet managment: Still my biggest problem. Don’t know which pets are the best for sPVP. Using the pet skills correctly and so on.
Positioning: But im getting better.
So, thats it and have a nice time in GW2…
