Might be good to have a look at power rangers also, since they will need to focus their heals at important moments rather than pressing heals on cooldown.

Couple of tips for VG:

  • If you’re running to green circles, try not to waste your staff #3 to get there. Use staff 3 just after the green circle “pops” as everyone inside will take a small chunk of damage. If somebody is low HP while the green is up, then prioritise healing them asap, since the green will likely explode if they are down when it “pops”.
  • Glyph of tides is your best friend, use it to knock seekers away from the tank or green circles.
  • Lunar impact (Avatar #3) is a great panic heal and can be used to quickly burst people to full HP.
  • Rejuvenating tides (Avatar #4) is your main buffing tool and ideally should be used on the melee stack. Use it as a heal in emergencies though.
  • If you are in the subgroup with the tank, try to keep an eye on his/her HP. If things are fine on greens then throw an odd lunar impact their way to keep them topped up. Rejuvenating tides in melee should also heal the tank.
  • The only part of VG that should require heavy healing is the split phase, if your team is bringing the blue and green guardians together. It’s not unusual to just camp your avatar while both guardians are up.

Lastly, just keep trying! People love to point fingers at the Druid for “bad healing” when they are playing badly themselves and taking far too much damage. Don’t be afraid to call people out if they are standing inside the seeker AOE’s or getting ported a lot, no amount of healing can help them there! :P

Another important thing that’s not related to healing but alot of druids forget to do is to activate the fury ability from your tiger from time to time since you are the only reliable source to give fury after that the chrono can share the fury but even than you should use your pet occasionaly.

Wouldn’t the red moa be a ‘better’ option for druids working on maximizing their healing output? You get perma fury uptime just like the tiger (if going BM/NM) and you get another pretty decent, albeit uncontrollable, heal over time from Harmonic cry every 32 seconds. Furious Screech also has greater range compared to Furious Pounce, if that’s even worth to take into consideration? Invigorating Bond?

It all depends OG. Depending on the team and circumstances, sometimes Red Moa can be good, other times and builds could use different pets.

I’ve seen and heard of some Druids use Fern Hound as a source of regeneration and extra heal with Invigorating Bond before. If it works – it works.

Quick question for the experts. I have a full set of Minstrel’s armor that I use for WvW healing/tanking, tricky solo feats, etc. and am starting to gear up for Raids. How much of this can I bring into a raid?

I like the boon duration, but the toughness seems too high, and I don’t want to steal aggro. Should I just convert all of it to Magi’s and call it a day, or can I bring some into a raid?

Edit: If some of it can be used for full healer, how much toughness should be considered max for raids, as not to steal aggro?

That all depends on the party, Archon. No easy answer for that one. A general answer is: it’s safe to not have any pieces at all. The best thing you can do is take it group-by-group.

Ask the designated tank how much toughness they have, and replace pieces of your minstrel armor with other non-toughness armor until you are at a safe level to avoid grabbing aggro.

For safety, grab a full set of (exotic) Magi armor from Temple vendors or somewhere in case you find yourself in a group where you can’t slot any of your minstrel armor.

You could convert your Minstrel armor if you want, but those are so expensive that I personally would not want to. Just go with my above recommendation as a hapy medium.

QT has great DPS and players don’t take much damage so healing req is minor support. With pugs to be on save sides always be more defensive as druid unless the team is strong. If you hv a guy that’s always down..then switch to magi gear and keep stone spirit up near players location at all time esp on certain phases. If team still hv issues take healing spring and trapper traits. Healing spring not only heal it cleans conditions and recharge astral force like wonders. As soon as you go in celestial mode skill 4 immediately ensure that covers most players bcos it doesn’t only heal but also give grace of land to 5 stacks best defense offense support ! It is up to you and the tank to decide on how low you need to go. You should always aim to reach the base 1000 toughness even as a healing druid, however.
There aren’t actually any reasons to keep any toughness as you already are the most tanky person in the squad by a long shot.
