Salutations folks, I am running a Condi-Gen313 Build i made and im running into one issue that is really a pain in my side.

If i get rooted/imob i cant seem to get out of it. I use the Vigor/evade skill because it said it breaks stun..but im guessing root/imob dont count as that.

how are the other rangers dealing with it? please keep in mind i dont want to get rid of my entangle Elite skill.

as a side note is there another way to get stability? maybe from a field or pet? anything?

Unfortunately, rangers seem to be really vulnerable to immobilize. We don’t have any skills that specifically remove it and don’t have a lot of condition removal in general.

You can try to preempt it by activating Rampage as One or Signet of the Wild (with Signet of the Beastmaster) for stability or remove it with Signet of Renewal. Other than that you just have to wait it out.

Weapon evade skills like Stalker’s Strike and Serpent Strike still work while immobilized so at least you can avoid some incoming damage. You can also reduce the duration with Runes of Melandru or lemongrass food consumables.

Ya usually just using sword or dagger skills while immobed will be sufficient, I get mesmer rooted for shatter combos all day, and dagger 4 or sword 2/3 help me avoid all incoming dmg if timed correctly.

hmmm yeah, i run RVP and Tuning crystals for my munchies. well getting out of this root is the last part to complete my build. I am able to fight 3-4 people at once with this setup…until i get rooted and focused. lol

so any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Also, is entangle considered a Condition? would the signet remove it?

Entangle will immobilize you once every second. Use an evade while immobilized to dodge the next tick of immobilization and you will be able to dodge roll out during that split second before it stacks on you again.

You don’t need to even preemptively dodge it. Honestly, if you just pop an evade skill after getting stuck, you will only need to spend at most 1s inside of it, and you will be invulnerable (from the evade) for the entire time. S3 is better than D4 at this though since the evade is 0.5s longer.

Next question…i was thinking about ditching SotH for the condition removal one. I also have empathic bond.

would that be a wise move? or is the lack of run speed going to pee in my cheerios?

ideas? if i can negate this immob i will be super stoked..so lets figure this out!

I generally switch out SotH before SoR or SotW. The condition removal is awesome, especially with with the WS grandmaster trait that removes conditions as well. Basically you already shake conditions like a mad man, and when they happen to “condition burst” all at once, you can just shake everything at once and keep at them while all their skills are on cooldown.

Again though, refer to my previous post. The immobilize will be a non issue as long as you make sure each of your weaponsets have at least one built in evade/block.
