This was against a level 80 mesmer with both WvW stacks and food buffs. not an uplevel. At first I thought he went invisible. He just got one hit.

My head is about to blow up…

Maul needs a buff IMO. The damage is less than rapid fire and about 1 million times harder to land..

In the Mesmers defence, he was hit by Hilt Bash before Maul according to that combat log

Mesmers are commonly berserker, and GS rangers are usually berserker, so that seems like a pretty run of the mill maul. With some buffs, OP could have gone WAY over 9k damage. 25 might, MoC, SotW, SotH, things start to get out of control very quickly. On occasion I like to demonstrate that at the south windmill by having someone let me 1 hit them. It’s always good for some laughs.

Pretty sure he was using MoC, hence why the first crit maul was 50% higher than the second.
