more pets!
Yes more pets but most importantly at least 1 more with Fear/KD!
Well, all that I care about is that Anet has made it clear they ARE adding more pets, since they added the Reef Drake in Lost Shores.
I’m hoping for a Moa that grants a rare boon, like short stability or aegis or something. (Where’s my golden moa already?)
My kingdom for the original, crocodilian marsh drake from beta (now scaled drakes in the wild). And wargs. And some herbivores, like stags or dolyaks or something, that would be fun.
I’d like another “big” pet, like a dolyak.
I like Ryoki’s idea of a pet with a short stability or aegis boon. That’d be hot, but we need a more responsive F2 for it to really shine. This would be a good ability for the “big” pet.
I’d like to see some more exotic pets, like crystalline animals as a result of the dragon corruption.
I’d like the Porcine Forage to be made less clunky, especially at range.
[TTBH] [HATE], Yak’s Bend(NA)
Really want Raptors… I mean who wouldn’t want a Velociraptor with feathers…
i see many pets in the world that would make cool pets. Also change up the pets attributes a little more? they are mostly the same for similar animals. Items to boost pets attributes would be cool too. anyone else agree?
i know this topic is kinda short, but i think it gets the point across
The first sentence is pretty badly worded. Read it one more time.

Speaking of the corrupted animals, I had always thought it would be cool to tame a nightmare hound, one that wasn’t fully corrupted. The same could go with some branded creatures, maybe there’s a event chain where you perform a ritual to cleanse the aggression from them, allowing them to be tamed.
i would like a better looking drake pet(more dragonlike), the current ones look kinda lame imo, just overgrown lizards. except maybe ice drake is just ok.
I want a giant chicken, like the one you can fight in Orr during the DE. Just for the LOLs.
No please NO more pets, no pets would be good for me. (Ranger NOT Beastmaster).
Or if there is a chicken, it has to be the one out of Family Guy !

Sorry to break it to you, but ranger IS a beastmaster. That’s why our last trait line, the profession trait line, is beastmastery. Pet is the class mechanic, it will always be our class mechanic.
I know I’ve said this before and it’s been in other topics, but if you don’t like pets at all, you’re not playing the right class, I’m afraid.

I should have seen that one coming.
I play a Ranger, I always play a Ranger, we had a petless Ranger in GW1.
Yes we have a “Beastmaster trait” line, I have nothing in mine.
I don’t intend to play any other class, so please don’t tell me what to play or how to play it.
Thank you.
+1 to Solid Gold
On topic:
I’d like more ranged pets. Devouers are nice, but 2 of 4 skills they have are wasted most of time (evade and KD) and I simply hate spiders :P Maybe monkey throwing stones with “bigger” one on F2 as a stun?
Also, pets that have very low dmg and 3 of 4 skills are boons/auras, so we could use them as support ones, not dps (cmon, red moa isn’t enough).
Pet Cave Troll ! That thing is a beast !! Knockback , daze, poison , regenerates health !! BEASTMODE !
i want a pet Gryphon
im kind of envious to Ogres found in some maps, because on of their pets is a gryphon

Unfortunately Anet already decided it for you.
In GW1 the ranger had to load a skill in order to have a pet. Players complained that (1) it was annoying to lose one of your skill slots just to have a pet, and (2) pets were too weak.
So Anet listened to them. In GW2 you don’t have to load a skill to have a pet, and the pet is stronger. But that means they had to balance assuming you always had your pet out – they had to weaken the ranger to keep it balanced. So regardless of how you or I want to play the ranger (I rarely loaded a pet in GW1), it’s been designed as a pet class.
You can fume and complain about it, even though it’s highly unlikely to be changed at this point. Or you can accept it and learn to use the pet as best you can. Or you can play a different class. Don’t get mad at people for telling you those are your realistic options.
Fix the current pets before adding moar
Pretty pretty pretty please make wargs tamable, coolest animals in the game.

I don’t get mad at people, and l already know the options, thank you again.
And I’m not fuming or complaining, where did you get that from ?
Yes it does like we are stuck with ArenaNet’s idea of what a Ranger should be.
I want a pet dolphin. Give him a ramming skill that stuns.
Peace through superior firepower and total retaliation.

lol yes it is worded badly. i made this fast and didn’t care much for wording. i appreciate the gesture of making me realize my mistakes
ON FURTHER NOTE: Mostly everyone’s ideas are very cool. In my opinion, a basilisk would be very cool with the stun. The raptor is also a very pleasing idea!

I couldn’t agree more. The class is basically pigeon held to them and is given few choices when it comes to animal traits. You only partially control one skill so it often feels like the puppet is working against the puppeteer =(

If you do path 3 of arah explorable, you’ll discover that there was a ritual the forgotten used to free Glint from Kralkatorrik’s control. The priory explorer following you through the dungeon uses this ritual to free a risen chicken.
