Guild Wars 2

Hi all, so a lot of people here (myself included) are angry about the update, I figured I would share what changes I have made to try and keep my build viable.

Armor/sigils/runes all same before and after update:

Armor: beserker
Weapons (before update): lb/sb
Weapons(after update): lb/gs
Runes: scholar
Sigils (before update): lb=bloodlust, sb=sigil of air
Sigils (after update): lb=bloodlust, gs=sigil of rage (possibly going to change)

traits: 30/30/0/10/0

marks: I-X-XI
skirm: I-X-XII
nm: V

Skills (after update): signet of wild, signet of stone, lightning reflex, rampage as one (lightning reflexes switched out for qz)

pets (old): duel cats
pets(new) duel wolves

This build for me is working pretty well in 1v1 wvw, of course I do not have any bursts like I did in the past, but the biggest part of this build is keeping as much distance as long as possible. With all the damage increases my character has (especially 10% increased damage 90% health and above) my goal is to try and stay as far away from my opponent as possible. The duel dogs help with knockdowns, chill, and fear, which all disrupt my opponent. When my opponent gets close i pop #4 on lb and then use lighting reflexes to create a huge gap again between me and my opponent. If they get close again I can use both signets and switch to gs to swoop in and try and deal some big damage with 6 seconds of vulnerability to handle any big hits by opponents.

Just thought I would share what I have been doing with my beserker build after the update, hope it may help some people out

This. 1v1 in WvW is the most inconsequential type of fight in the entire game, but it’s the only instance where the single-target focused Ranger profession can shine. It’s really sad that those 1v1s usually turn into 1v2+ and as soon as it goes beyond 1v1 we’re back to every other profession being better suited to the content at hand.

I’d have to disagree with the 2 people above. I spend al lmy time in WvW, and even in zerg battles you can easily have 1v1 style battles. Just stop spamming AoE randomly at the enermy and think you’re helping and pick one target whose close to you and you think you can take down quickly and then do it. Thats what berserker rangers are for, fast kills at distance. Its very easy if you do it right because they usually have no clue whos hitting them or that they are even being targetted until its too late.

Agree with this, I play condition power sb build in wvw and in Zerg just target 1 guy, they don’t know who’s attacking, when they get low on hp they try turning and running, pop qz and boom sb bleed time. Throw in piercing arrows and you get some decent aoe also from the sb in zerg’s. Going off on one… Point is 1v1 happens all the time in Zerg.

Thanks for taking the time to post the build Paz. I did wvw with my ranger for the first time last night and must say I enjoyed it.
