Seeing all those mini dragons whirling around made me realize how cool would it be if rangers had snakes for pets.

Snakes type pets could be classified as reptiles and for stat they could be a cross between birds and canines, high precision good power, low vitality and maybe high tougness.

Their basic attack should be very fast and deal moderate dmg (lower than birds), the second skill could be a low cd moderate dmg attack that applies poison, and the third skill could be a evade of some sort maybe functioning like serpent’s strike.

The f2 abilities could simply apply conditions like torment or slow, or they could be more interesting like say an attack where the snake coils itself around the target and pulses immobilize for a few sec (functionally the same as entangle but single target).

Hmm, snakes would be cool, but I think the animations would be hard to do well, meaning they won’t do them.

Myself, I’d just love a Raptor with smoke field F2 or Bat with a ‘echo locate’ aoe reveal.

Personally I’d like to see a tameable Juvenile Arenanet Developer.

  • Every time you press F1, it will come up with excuses for why it cant do basic things pets can do in other games, like hit a moving target.
  • If you press F2, it would give a technical explanation as to why the F2 will take awhile.
  • The actual functionality of the Dev’s F2 will be to summon another temporary Dev on a very long cooldown. Because its possible to have two Devs at once, the base stats of the primary Dev will be nerfed into something useless.
  • F3 generates an excuse explaining why pets and spirits cant be made to survive in dungeons, wvw, or any party-situation in general. For example, “AoE damage reduction for pets in other games just wouldnt work in this game!”
  • Attempting to stow will prompt excuses for why we have no damage compensation for stowing pets.

Juvenile Dev’s will only be tamable in WvW. They will roam behind south camp sending angry tells to GvG’ers and duelists about how GvG disrupts “their game mode.”

Weell, there actually used to be snakes ingame during the betas. They were a bit…borked though. Perhaps if they fixed them up we could get them back lol:

Animating a snake isn’t that much harder than a quadruped to be honest. You can even set up special rigs that will automatically animate the slithering motion.

A python or boa constrictor with immob would be cool. The F2 animation would make the snake wrap around the target, and maybe bite it in the face
