This is a post for all the fellow Druid healers out there.
Dont be mad if/when some members of the community do illogical things while you are playing healer, or if people discriminate against your healing.
Keep in mind, the community of GW2, went for 3 years without true Healer class, or a healer role. So over that time people been conditioned into a more selfish dps play style. It will take some time for people to get use to the concept of Healers in GW2.
Yesterday, I was playing SPvP, when my groupmates, who could see I was a Druid from my icon, went to the mid cap point in Foe, and simply stood on the platforms, while I was the only person standing in the circle with a equal size of enemy players. My teammates avoided me, making it harder to heal them, and they left me as the only person in the cap point to be the center of focus fire.
But I give them the benefit the doubt. as I said, the game design of Vanilla breed this “All-for-self selfish dps-or-death” mentality which is counterproductive to the new healing role of HoT. Give people time.
When I played healer in BWE3, in WvW, I managed to pump out some serious heals in a 3 way zerg fight, and got some mad props from the commander and my server members.
Also in SPvP, I got some mad props from a skilled Reaper once. the Two of us, pretty much dominated an enemy team with just the two of us by working together. Its really fun.
Yeah Druid got some nerfs, but its still usable as a decent healer. I would like that Cooldown reduction on CF, but thats another topic. lol
