race for a ranger?
Personally, I love my norn ranger. The norn culture seems an amalgamation of Norse and Native American cultures and traditions, which fit the ranger class well (in my opinion). Sylvari was my second choice.
Seeing my sylvari ranger holding Yggdrasil for the first time, I felt like I’d made some good life choices.
My only “ugh, nooo” was female charr ranger; the shout of “might makes right” had me hating the character, and I generated too much might. so sad.
TBH, I’d recommend “not human or norn” as the general choice. Non-human races get more interesting story and role in the lore, and it really doesn’t make much difference beyond that…
Norn because when you are bored you can become a snow leopard !

Heh. I love my female charr. I went through three transformation kits to get her right, but now she’s the best-looking of all my characters. Her “longbow crouch” looks so friggin cool.
I have more Sylvari than all the other races combined. That and the HoT playthrough with Sylvari is great! Hearing Mordremoth talking and the slight story changes were well worth the price of admission.
But then again, I played Sylvan on Dark Age of Camelot years ago, so they’re a huge throwback to me on top of looking awesome with great armor choices.
And like above, a T2/T3 hodgepodge decked out Druid with Yggdrasil is a thing of beauty. I just added the Thief hood and It is definitely my best looking character.
Ashen Mistwalker: WvW Tank/Crit Revenant
Oaken Earthlore: WvW Medi/Bunker Guardian
Human is the safest choice for skins not clipping. Charr have ridiculous clipping problems and bad armor choices in general.
