ranger nerf ?
no link, never heard, don’t care so long as they don’t buff the brains of my enemies some how.
If it makes you feel better, they are likely looking at base druid healing in conjunction with healing power and if they are thinking about nerfing hot pets its likely power scaling specifically how hard might affects their bursts.
Don’t worry, druid will still be OP so long as they don’t take our 10k laser beam away.
Only heard about DH burst and Mesmer boon sharing nerf.
I wouldn’t be surprised about Druid healing nerf, but will be upset about a pet nerf. What about buffing other pets before nerfing those two ?
Anyway, it’s all rumours for now.
I’m sure we’ll get at least one completely off the wall nerf like we always do…. something like nerfing “light on your feet” or “invigorating bond” and providing no explanation for why they would nerf such an underused trait.

hey
so i heard rangers are getting nerfed healing and thier pets too (bristleback, smokescale )Now i have been searching the net for theses speculation and found nothing i was wondering if some a of you might know about this or have a link that has info on this
So that must mean thief crit, perma stealth and condi damage builds are getting nerfed too.

Without a Dev quoted saying that rumor is rumor and nothing more.
When is balance even supposed to be?
It’s not. They operate on cyclical imbalance. Look it up. Once you read over what that is the balancing they have done in GW2 all makes 100% sense.

Wait… Has Ranger been best for competitive, ever?
… Did I miss something ? Or did you mean the cycle of Ele/Warrior taking the best spot in circles ?
Rumor has it was leaked during last LAN. Bristleback and Smokescale getting hit.

If that’s true, it’s on the edge of virtual animal cruelty. It’s starting to feel like an abuse.

Don’t worry. I’m sure we’ll get a balanced offset of one less second on moa heal cooldown to compensate.
We won’t even be able to tell a difference.
alright thanks guys well i hope its only a rumor but i am expecting a nerf on those pets but i mean its not like they are op either most of the time those pets hit only 1 target sure they are good for 1v1 its not like a trap dh that can down 3 ppl at once anyways i dont think they should nerf the pets they are the rangers dmg like traps are dh dmg and etc.. its just part of the class mechanics , maybe a longer cooldown on spike barrage but nothing major anyways even if the nerf those pet ppl are just gonna complain about somthing else

This video describes the reasons why Anet’s balancing seems like “whack-a-mole”:

Who knows, maybe I start roaming with carrion devourer again after it gets compensation buff for smokescale nerf!
Haven’t they nerfed smokescale and bristleback several times now? They are good because they can hit a moving target and because the other pets are either terrible all round for PvP, or very bad at hitting moving targets.

What’s normal is decided based on majority. Not logic.
We are just unlucky that 90% of our pets are useless. That makes Smokescale and Bristle look overpowered by default. And they will look OP unless they are brought to the useless level.
The issue with smokescale and bristleback cannot be fixed with skill shaving. Our pet are being divided into groups which indicates their role.
We have squishy dps pets(brids, cats etc)
We have range, “medium armor”, condi pets(spiders, devourers)
We have off-tank/support(utility) pets(pigs/moas)
We have the hybrid, well-rounded pets(wolves/drakes)
We have tank pets(bears)
Based on those divisions, bristleback should have been focused on condi damage burst and not power damage. The smokescale’s smoke assault should have been more about the might stacking and position and much less about the damage.
When you think about it this really emphasizes why bristleback and smokescale, are being superior to other pets, they fall into sever categories while being better from most of the other pets on each category.
They should change/improve the system for types pf pets to be very synergistic(or even locked) under specific trait lines. The way tiger is working out with remorseless i think is a good example of great design. As a squishy dps pet, it meets the chereterstics of our “dps” trait line, it synergies greatly with remorseless build(combo of leap with opening strike for both you and pet), its one of the only time i feel the ranger and pet working together to land a damage combo.
I just don’t get why the smokescale’s smoke field isn’t a blind field as well. When you look at the animation, one would believe it was (misleading)

Maybe because it would make GftE redundant (not that anybody would use this trait after the nerf, but still …)
Ranger has plenty of access to projectile finisher, so you can still use the field to blind your enemy.

Projectiles and whirling finishers.

I was kinda looking at this as a druid version of thieves blinding powder. Not about the blind to combo, but blind on downed opponents.
It was just an observation, nothing more.
