all we know that we are not special at anything,not high burst dmg , no def or crazy survivability nothing … we are ok with all. but let me tell you something that ranged me out today arenanet you just Nerf us all the time and other classes(warriors) getting fame from you !! today i went wvw … usual i can 1v1 ppl or atleast get them to closely die .
but now what warrior just came and kitten d me with 2 spells : long bow for immobolize and stupid a hundred blades got me killed in less then 2 secs … what is that are you kidding on the rangers ?? arenanet. warriors can kitten us in 2 secs + to all that i have done protection shout and pet died with me LIKE WTF???? give us something there is nothing much in a ranger nothing our weps are with pure skills maybe sword for evading nothing more ..

u cant die in 2 sec unless ur a glass cannon. And i’m running the BM ranger build, it works very well for me even when i’m not as skilled as hardcore pvp/wvw players. But BM rangers have a decent amount of damage and survivability. If you’re running GC u should run with a zerg, but if u like to roam like me i would run BM ranger.

My weapons is axe/dagger + sword/torch what i do is that i throw all my conditions to him and let my pet do the damage . As for battling against warrior i learn to keep a safe amount of distance from him and let my pet deal the damage while i put conditions on him. and hundredblades will only hit up to 6-7k u can run gs too when ur immobolize to block. When u’r gank by 2 or 3 players always aim the char in which u think is the easiest to kill and someone who can nuke u down easily.

Huh? Even if I fail and stand in place whole 100b, I always survive it.

and to the OP. being frustrated after you get worked like a rib is a dangerous thing..all kinds of feelings going through your mind! How did that happen? Omg, Hes Haxors!, My build Sucks!, Ive been Nerfed! and the list goes on.

If youre looking for a viable build try out my Re-port331 its alot of fun and i havent died in a 1 on 1 in a very long time.

Btw. If you do get rooted and the warrior gets off his 100b just use evades until its done. If i get locked down like that . i cast bon fire on myself and guard on top of me. then I use all my evades and things always end up in my favor!

@Mistt, I have to disagree. With the right build, you can Survive better than any other class. And with the right build, you can damage with the best of them.

Your problem is that you think that it takes a Glass Cannon Build to be effective, when its totally useless in nearly every situation. There is also a reason why those Superior Sharpening stones raise you power based on how much Toughness and Vitality you have, not other stats. Another big point is that your Pet IS your class mechanic. Use it! Take advantage of it! ETC.!

Rangers are a very effective class, and it doesn’t require Berzerker’s or Rampager’s gear to do it! Try out Cleric and Soldier gear. Using a combination of those two, you can still deal alot of damage, and take alot of damage before you go down.

some funny thing especially for OP:
I have both guardian and ranger.
I was fighting both with zerker hundred blades warriors (1v1)
Ranger made it through killing enemy…
Guardian tried to survive an when I saw that accidentally enemy have 50% hp I started to loosing and die a while later.

and my ranger always have problems in 1v1 with good thiefs – lastly with my guardian I survived in fight with thief extremely long…

Try something else next time…i don’t know…like moving ? And/or actually using your skill slots. Also remember to equip a weapon.

ok for all those who say that i should put stun breaker i have 2 stun breakers 2 sigil my gear are 70% zerker and 30% valkyrie so i have around 17k on my bow 18k on my sword/horn my build made for surviving with those wep combos and pooping up good damage also let you know stunbreakers doesn’t removes immobolize effects .. my pet was a bear tanky pet your opinion idk maybe some game bug but he realy smashed me in around 2 – 3 secs .. BM builds are good at survival i know i used them but i dont like the axe and melle combination of it .i am a ranger i made this character for being ranged not melle i got mesmer who is sword/focus thats enough warriors just dominate and arenanet are giving them even more fame every patch more and more buffs next patch they get more health pull … GZ what we get ?? maybe more nerf ? my opinion shouts should be on pet bar available all the time and not count as utility spell . when i played thief as almost full zerk gear i could survive easy and with glass cannon spec same with my mesmer ……. rangers just dont have that

You told about stun earlier…
about immobilize…
1st: You can still evade
2nd: GS skill counteratack if fun on warriors launching 100b
3rd: Healing spring and no problem with immobilise
4th: Stunbreaker signet also will take off that immobilize
5th: 70% zerker eq is nearly glass canon – so You are calling rangers weak because of glass canon eated by skill that is mean to.

Evades work.

I guess if you just stand there without pushing any buttons its hard to win vs a 100b warrior.

Not with you on that. We have crazy survivality with sword dagger you get 3 doges, 50% endurance regen in WS, lighting reflxes for extra dodge(if you want to feel really safe), protection on dodge roling, protect me shout we have so many ways not to die I think it’s unfair.

So much escapes and you have trouble with a build that relies on 1 skill? go sword dagger and lighting reflexes and you have counting dodges 6 ways of evading 100b and if you trait for shared anguish(WS III) that warrior will feel so stupid as he finally lands that precious bull charge and see you are not in the ground.
