This has already been said but these traits should not be competing with each other.

Any condition build needs both of these to put out damage comparable to other classes.

I would also argue that traps used in power builds don’t necessarily need to be traited, but are required to for condi builds.

I propose merging sharpened edges with hidden barbs, especially as hidden barbs is not that useful if you cant apply any bleeds…

i found this awkward too .

though im against the merg with Hidden barbs because just taking that trait scales up so many other bleeding sources as to the reason why they did make it compete with trappers expertise.

i’d rather have Sharpened edges made Minor adept and merg tail wind with Furious grip leaving one adept slot open for a new trait.

sharpened edges won’t be that strong but atleast it’ll add some stable additional condi damage to every build that uses Skirmishing half the builds we now use ether have too much Swiftness and not enough condi output unless you go the full hog again.

its very restrictive for a Cele hybrid build having to choose to between these two traits.

and if we had that emtpy adept slot I’d gladly like Anet to add

Exposing weakness
you deal 5% more damage vs poisoned foes , weakened foes
your poison and weakness durations are 10% longer.

or

you deal 5% more damage vs poisoned foes , weakened foes
and gain Resistance for 2secs when you apply Weakness. (IDC 15secs on the resistance part)

since beastmastery and or Nature magic use weakness and wilderness can use Poison .

edit : what i do still find funny is warroirs adept minor is 33% on crit chance for 1 bleed(3secs) =128damage
and rangers is 66% at 2seconds , i would not even care in the slightiest if they lowered our sharpened edges to 33% since the condi builds got a huge buff.

I feel like they could get rid of sharpened edges altogether if they remove the crossfire flanking requirement.

But they need to acknowledge that sb, sharpened edges, and traps are meant to go together.

I feel like they could get rid of sharpened edges altogether if they remove the crossfire flanking requirement.

But they need to acknowledge that sb, sharpened edges, and traps are meant to go together.

i was thinking of it for the pet+player use its 2 bleeds on any weapon set and if they made it minor adept Lb’s sustain would be slightly improved without Sacrificing that adpet slot of Trappers Expertise or primal reflexes to gain those bleeds.

sharpened edges needs to be a viable choice for all weapons not just taking the trait to beef up SB.
