Your incoming 50% damage nerf at ranger pet is the most stupid thing i have ever see. Where is the damage of a ranger beast master now?? No sense ftw anet gg

Rangers aren’t getting buffed. Every other class is. If you consider the LB a buff, you are a fool. Arrows fly a little bit faster.. woo… so helpful on a class without a viable power build.

BUT! My “LB spirits and bear” build will at long last be top dungeon spec! And they said I was bad! HA!

Looking at several hundred lines of patch changes that will have significant effects on every single class and declaring that it’s going to be a disaster because of one change is myopic. Making a forum post attributing the change to “people crying” and calling it “the most stupid thing you’ve ever seen” is childish.

All eight classes are having things both buffed and nerfed. None of these dozens and dozens of changes is happening in a vacuum. Your first-read gut reaction is almost certainly overestimating the effects of some changes and underestimating the effects of others. Get a grip.

favo: as far as i know, the problem with pet damage was that a bunker ranger still did pretty good damage because of the pets (40-60% of your damage comes from the pet alone), while other classes’ bunker builds didn’t have as much damage.

It wouldn’t be so bad if at the same time the ranger’s own damage at least was increased or something… then again, what good would pets be then? (What good are they now? in dungeons e.g.) If the ranger itself did most of the damage, the pets would just become a bigger version of collectable minis that you can’t even put away.

They also reduced aftercast on 1. from 5. to .25s, that means ~20% dps boost on spamming 1.

Im a little confused tho with these numbers,it is state that Calling lightning dmg is increased for 150%,and im thinking that if it does 1000 dmg a 150% increase will do 2500..but someone said to me that actually it does 1500.So a 50% decrease in a 4000 would be 2000 or 3500?

My wolf deals 900-1000 damage when don t crti and 1500 wirh crit. Wirh 50% damage neef wolf hit for 450 without crit and 750 with crit? No sense. Ok jaguar can crit 4000 and this is little op but anet can nerf this instead 25-30% not all pet 50%. And i have read a lot people cry for this..

I think the pet nerfs aren’t as big a deal but I was really expecting a serious buff to our damage output somewhere.
The pet nerf really pushed down our already low dps, and it’s something that really needs looked at.
So sure pets needed nerfed cuz… what? Spvp and some roamer got killed by a ranger?
Yet we can’t get a meaningful damage boost to really offset this either?
Maybe give us some more utility? We are just very lacking right now.
We aren’t even the jack of all trades master of none class.
We are simply OK at the things we can do, and a lot of stuff we simply cant do.

Dont need rangers to be OP but we really need some work still, and I think people looking at that list of “leaked” notes or whatever were hoping to find answers and not more problems.

There is no 50% wolf damage nerf in the leaked patch notes. There is a 27% damage nerf on the Bite skill only. You either misread the notes or got bad secondhand information.

Beastmaster was a silly build. I’m glad it’s being nerfed. I was getting so sick of people just running around dilly-dally’ing not doing anything while their pet crits me for 3k. We’ll just have to see how this whole nerf/buff thing plays out though.

Right because you should balance according to what crying players say. That is how it should be done! Right.

balancing around you being terrible and having no situational awareness is not a good thing.

Also lets clear something up right now for everyone..

Anyone who says “I’m tired of the ranger dancing around doing nothing while their pet killed me” is not someone the Devs should ever take advice from…You should not be dying to a Ranger pet solo..if you die to one solo, stop playing, because you’re hopeless.

You dying to a Ranger pet while a Ranger is beating on you is completely different from you just eating it to a pet because you’re bad.
