spiders ruined by their own skill
I use spiders in big dynamic events and in dungeons. They’re great for those huge, hard-hitting mobs that get locked down by Warriors and Guardians – when they stop to pummel the heavy armor-wearer, my pet can keep up my DPS and even set up short combo fields, all from range . Compare that to almost ALL my melee pets, which I usually park beside me in Passive (particularly in dungeons) just so I can access their F2 abilities when they’re off cool-down. If I don’t, my poor pet spends half the fight limping around with an empty health bar, completely useless.
Eh, it’s a small annoyance, but it’s also handy. When I farm DEs, I tend to take a spider as my secondary pet because of the AoE poison. Of course, I take a Carrion Devourer as primary because I can do the same thing with an F2 ability that takes almost no cast time.
Spiders are one of the stronger pets… If you’re in a group, or are a Melee ranger, that gas will hit and wreck that enemy group, and it’s pretty smart about hitting mob that are running around with the immob instead of using it on a stationary mob (which is how they are when you engage)
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
Eh, I don’t think poison will ever “wreck” anything, but yea, their AI with the immobilize is good.

Lol I was thinking more of the weakness I apply to them with swoop+ poison maiming their healing capabilities, but yeah it won’t do raw damage but the side effects will make them sorry.

This is part of the reason I occasionally use black bears. The AoE weakness is pretty awesome, especially in W3 and dungeons. It’s hard for me to not run double canines in PvP though.
I’ve had pretty good success with spiders, especially if you take Intimidation Training. The four second cripple actually makes has a pretty big impact.
