New trait system inc.
Adept, master and grandmaster will have only 3 traits each.
Speculate which adepts and masters will be merged or deleted!
Which traits will be a permanent feature like well placing for necros?
Piercing arrows? Placable traps? Or maybe something whole different?
What kind of traits u expect from elite spec druid?

Thank you Anet for finally going with a “less is more” approach. I’m hoping they’re smart about merging some of the current traits for more synergy. A few that I speculate that will be merged:

  • Opening Strike & Alpha Training
  • Precise Strike & Remorseless
  • Signet Mastery & Beastmaster’s Might
  • Tail Wind & Furious Grip
  • Trapper’s Defense & Trapper’s Expertise
  • Shared Anguish & Hide In Plain Sight
  • Rejuvenation & Nature’s Bounty
  • Zephyr’s Speed & Instinctual Bond
  • Speed Training & Commanding Voice
  • Master’s Bond & Mighty Swap – How it resets currently, they might as well give us the Might when we swap pets and lose our stacks.

Speculate to be deleted:

  • Circle of Life
  • Healer’s Celerity
PET PRECISION & DPS TESTS -OUTDATED-
Will update once Path of Fire releases.

I’m one of the odd ones that rather place the trap fast, quick and easily right by my feet, so I hope not, but I guess it will happen, just like wells.

Companion’s Prowess: Critical hits give might to the pet and pets do more critical damage.
Move this one to Beastmastery where it belongs.

Agility Training becomes baseline.

Invigorating Bond: You and your pets regenerate health and your pet heals nearby allies when using it’s F2.

Then you could go into Wilderness Survival for Barkskin, Nature Magic for Fortifying Bond and Survival of the Fittest, and Beastmastery to make a very strong high sustain beastmaster build.

Also, if lines dont give stats anymore, how the pet stats will be as high as it is now while going into BM trait line. Perheps the stats will move to the minor traits in the that line(100 for every minor trait).

There are other examples like where Heal as One is becoming a shout. We’re also rebalancing some skills based on the way traits are changing. The goal of this is to make more viable builds and give more definition to professions.

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

If you’r right BM line is going to become very strong, we used to “secrafise” 600 worth of stats for diving into BM(ya, i know some builds made use of the 300 healing power) with the new system if we dont sacrafise stats and traits going to merge/become better, Bm builds could become a thing(They also talked about shout changes).
BTW if all skills are becoming part of a “theme” RAO also going to become a shout( togather with heal as one) TU -survival and HS – TRAP/Signet?

I think the MM line is a preview of what all of them will become. At the moment, the MM has extremely interesting and difficult choices. Almost every trait in the line is good, to the point of it being completely overloaded, but there are basically 3 paths you can take. Signets, LB buffs, or raw damage?

they might combine Eagle Eye with RtW. It would be powerful, but it also makes some sense to do that since they both affect the same weapons.

I can’t see them combining EE and RtW, its just too powerful for one trait, but EE and Piercing arrows, perhaps.

I’m hoping they make Two Handed Training affect bows too

First thing to mention is the pet stat change. When its similiar to ele, then pett stats will increase at least around 150 points. Maybe more?

Remeber that in few hours anet will show us the trait changes.
The traits per line will decrease from 13 to 9. Its possible that two adepts will merge together each time. Itts likely that one master will be permanent or merged with others masters.
It would be a big deal too when some traits will be moved to other line, like mentioned pet traits to bm line

And pls note that they talked about changing HaO to a shout. We will know later in stream.
Its kinda interesting to change healing spring to a signet to make a signet line possible. Signet of the river with HS as active and small passive effects would be nice.

MM
Minors will be merged, opens space for new traits
Adept:steady focus. Keen edge. BMs bond
Master: spotter. Eagle eye&piercing arrows. BMs might&signet mastery
GM: RtW. Predators instinct&onslaught. Remorseless&precise strikes

Skirmishing
Minors: merging too, hunters tactics stays
Adept:primal reflexes. Sharpened edges. Companions might&pets prowess&carnivorous appetite
Master: trappers expertise&defense. Honed axes(no matter which hand). Quick draw
GM: trap potency. Moment ofclarity. Striders defense with slight utility buff

WS
minors: all stay
Adept:expertise&malicious training. Shared anguish. Wilderness knowledge&soften the fall
Master:offhand training. Oakheart salve&vigorous renewal. Hide in plain sight
GM: all stay

NM
Minors:rejuvenation&natures bounty, rest stays
Adept: vigorous spirits. Strength of spirit&enlargement. Natures protection
Master: spirit unbound (maybe permanent? !), martial training(cd and dmg trait for 1h, 2h sword and spear). Evasive purity
GM: stays. Natures voice&shout mastery

BM
Minor: new adept minor. Rest stays

RaO technically already has a skill type. It’s just a skill type that has no other company and thus no synergy with traits what so ever.

Piercing Arrow + Quick Hand totally should be merged..
(There’s really no other logical assumption, considering most classes have this kind of traits merged already)
Also, Great Sword training should be merged with the 5% damage one from the nature magic, otherwise it’s just too dumb to pick both of those traits..

I really can’t wait for the HoT to launch SOOON~~~

Considering what I’m seeing what they have done to the other classes I fear greatly for the Ranger traits getting mauled

The more they make changes in PVE based on PVP the more the Devs push me away from this game.

That was kinda shocking what they did in kind of recreating and new creating of traits
Bark skins sounds now a bit lame
Its easy for other classes to make a hit over 1600 dmg in few seconds and a whole GM is negated

My biggest concern is that both our big condi removal traits are on the same trait line, both GM traits so we cant pick them both any more. except for the GM traits, Wilderness Survival is not that amazing, new bark skin feels wrong.

Altho if you trait SoTF TU will now remove condies too. And a lower cd on top of that. Bark skin is garbage now.

Bark skin is Awsome , + the new Natures voice as adept its going to be much easier to stay above 90% in hybrid builds , maybe not in power but if you are power its not for you.

bark skin is a Minor grandmaster so its nothing but a bonus to your survival while you have Protection on too from dodges its going to be Epic damage reduction above 90%.
