Last patch gave revs alacrity, which is pointless to have on a rev, because almost nothing is affected by it. It actually can work against you, because you can use your skills more often, you also run out of energy faster. Sure, you can switch legends faster, but this doesn’t make up for it. Especially if you want to use multiple skills.

How about we increase the energy regen rate when under the effects of alacrity so we can keep doing the same stuff, but faster. The fact revs have both energy and CD’s already gives them less options then other classes, so why limit it even more with a particular buff?

Or even better, reduce all energy costs by something like 40% while under effects of alacrity. Getting alacrity now actually means something, rather then something you rather not get at times.

If energy costs were removed from weapon skills we’d likely end up with much longer cooldowns to compensate. As bad as many of the costs and cooldowns are now, I really doubt ANet would handle that sort of change carefully enough to not make things worse.

As for alacrity, it should probably do something more for revs than simply decrease cooldowns, but it should not be something as dramatic as a 40% reduction to energy costs. The idea of increased energy regen is appealing, though. Maybe an extra one or two per second.

The Energy system was designed around the class only having one weapon set and the Legends were suppose to be more effective. this all was changed in beta, and Energy need to reflect this change, yet here we are today…

Altough that would work I don’t mind the energy costs. There just has to be a reason for them to exist, which there isn’t. If you could just get 50 health or something for every energy spent, then I could understand it.

When only using skills this is true. But with F2, jalis hammers and sword 2 spam, you will run out of energy if you use alacrity. You will not run out of energy if you have no alacrity. Granted you will barely have any energy left before you can switch.

Because that energy isnt doing you much good if your forced into a legend that doesnt do what you need done at that specific time to get it. Unless anet is going to allow us to go ventari ventari spirit build its not actually solving our energy problem.

I’m not talking about the ventari alacrity, but alacrity in general. I don’t use ventari and never will, until it actually becomes worth taking.

If you want to give rev team support, remove the alacrity from ventari heal and replace the boon duration from F2 with alacrity. F2 isn’t worth using at the moment because double chrono. This also allows you to pick any legend.

I’ve played around 10 games with Ventari rev and wow, it is amazing.

Alacrity is definitely a team support thing. What’s so great about Ventari is that not only do you get high sustain but you give your team far greater sustain and utility. There is a plethora of techniques associated with the tablet, and now that the tablet is projected onto the world on legend swap it is no longer nearly as clunky as it was pre-patch.

I literally just came out of a game scoring around 830k healing. Not only does it heal a lot but its alacrity share is a huge benefit for team fights. The only problem with this build is when the opposite team also has a good Ventari rev. Then it becomes Tablet Wars 2.

Had a blast dragging the tablet around which heals, cleans condis, blocks projectiles, grants alacrity, protection, and regeneration. The elite is a fun little AoE CC as well. It feels… weird at first, but it becomes an extension of yourself later on.

The first time I tried it I swapped legends constantly (Glint <-> Ventari) but I quickly realized that is not how the playstyle works at all. Ventari should be in effect as often as possible because of the tablet. Glint is boonshare which is useful at the beginning of the round (regen swiftness might). It’s also a panic button for instant healing in case you’re quickly dropping in health from bursts. Using staff and sword/shield, wait for around 10 seconds and swap back to Ventari immediately.

Anywhere, WHERE WAS I! Got a little off track here =p but just comes to show how great fun I had while playing around with the tablet. I’m even comfortable enough to claim it’s on par with D/F auramancer (yep, I said it!). Damage is ridiculously poor, but on the contrary it has great healing and utility more so than D/F auramancer perhaps especially in the utility department (alacrity etc).

YEAH sure mesmers have alacrity too, but they’re usually separate from team fights and further away from enemies therefore allies. A lot easier to share alacrity with Ventari IMO than on Mesmer (and it makes more sense to share in Ventari than Mes).
