Any condi pve build?
Condi Revenant is not bad, but in the current group setup is not as much valuable as a power one.
With that out of the way, a condi build is surely viable, especially in open world.
Even in this case i’d actually suggest an hibrid one since the defensive stats are just damage loss. So either Sinister’s or Viper’s gear or a mix.
Basically grab mace/axe + sword/ or hammer or staff depending on situation; Corruption, Devastation, Herald; Mallyx + Glint.
The key trait in corruption is diabolic inferno: try to keep it on cd activating the elite every 10s. Keep mobs in the firefield and add torment as you can. I may suggest as sigils geomancy and the condi damage one (can remember hte name atm), runes of scrapper.
Not much to add. I thought about a rabbid tank but i cannot comment on that atm ;-)
Wat r u, casul?
It’s a lot of fun, but not even remotely comparable to other condition focused classes. For example, the highest burning I’ve been able to get on my rev is about 7k per tick and that was the peak. I’ve been hearing about 30k burns from engi’s and 20-30k bleeds from necros(I think). This makes me think that the conditions are either completely and utterly imbalanced or the revenant condi ability needs a massive buff to be viable. I’d personally LOVE to see some REAL class balancing, especially now that raids are out and they’re trying to gravitate away from the glass-cannon meta. And not just balancing initiated by PvP needs. High-end PvE content needs just as much balancing as any PvP.
For open-world, though, who cares. You can play a tank druid if that really appeases you. Anything works in Open-World if you have half a brain.

Well the accessory parts may be a bit troublesome to get since most of the Sinister’s Accessory is locked behind a achievement and Anet has yet to release Viper type Accessories.
Alternatively the Rabid accessories can be decent substitiute or Rampager if a person want to still have a strength, precision, and condition combo.

Berserker has the highest burning damage.
Engi and Reaper doesn’t even come close.
Proof is a guild with 3 cond Berserkers beat VG with 4 mins left. (no other cond class)
I’d like to add the question if rev is able to purely rely on conis for dmg? I’m thinking about something like rabid gear.
The thing is i got my ranger a nice condi build with rabid gear for HoT open world and it is really fun because you can get a lot of bleeds, burns and poison on the enemy so having decent dmg compared with high amount of toughness is nice.
I was thinking of doing the same with rev but i don’t know if this will work because
1) limited condi weapons (no range)
2) condi-skills don’t seem to push out high amount of condis. looks more like dmg comes from power/condi hybrid, which would make it hard for defensive stats to fit in.
Any experience? Am I right, wrong? What other condi/def stat-combo could fit better?
Thx in advance
Torment/Confusion is trash in pve /thread.
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.
Can only hope Mallyx will be buffed in the end of January update. He badly needs to be useable.
I find Mallyx to be very good. The resist, chill, movement, boon stripping tempest/whatever, and more. Its has a lot of uses.
exactly, mallyx is very good, it just suffers in the current heavy CC meta ;-)

thinking of going mace axe condi. pretty cool. but is it even remotely viable? doesn’t have to be meta standards.
it works and is fun but you have to remember in HOT most of the mobs have high hp and low def, condi kills slow but good for tons of target.
Mallyx plus dragon stance instead of shiro..nice sustain and average boonshare viper amulet plus durability runes..you are hard to kill and counter lots of builds currently played right now. Sword shield and mace axe, 4 axe gives to you the gap closer you need and the break stun plus blindbess and invisibility reveal from dragon stance it’s quite usefull..and the elite helps you push out the point dowen player so you can stomp and cap
Don’t use crystal ibernation with traits but the double stab when dodge more powerfull and usefull

There is so much LESS gained from Mallyx/glint. I think its a bad set up. And anyone with 400+ games on Rev could tell you that. First Mallyx/Glint, that elite is on a 44 second cooldown. Second you lose most of your mobility. You lose your ability to quick cap communes. ( Were you aware you could do that?) You also lose your ability to stomp with quickness. Rez with quickness. That is absolutely huge and game breaking. Getting those super fast stomps and rezs are invaluable to your team.
You lose shiros’ riposting shadows which is great for breaking cc and getting out of hairy situations. You lose Phase traversal. And amazing gap closer. (which also allows you to go through walls.) On Battle of khylo it is amazing for getting into the clock tower from the ground outside and immediately putting you on point. Same with Silent storm. The AOE elite on Shiro is another amazing tool. a full 3 second CC to 5 players! I cant tell you how many times that has saved my self or my teammates. Friendly down i run in stun everyone and quick rez. Thats just one of many examples that has changed team fights. There is more but i think you get the idea. Thats why you go Shiro/Glint or Mallyx/Shiro. Shiro is just too good to not use in any build. And you are absolutely wrong about the stability trait over Crystal hibernation. I cant believe you even suggested that. I can get to full health with dual hibernation. You just need to L2P i think. You use those when you throw regen on yourself. Also its a lifesaver. A big one. That extra stack of stability isnt that great. TBH i dont have an issue breaking CC on my rev. Against druids/anything. OP please dont listen to this guy. Im thinking he doesnt have much time or knowledge with Rev.
guys….the op was asking about pve only .

Yep… the simple fact that this thread was originally about PvE and just naturally gravitated towards PvP just goes to show you how badly things need to be balanced. If Mallyx had enough merit on its own in PvE, this conversation never would have left the realm of PvE.
