Any tips for a first time Revenant?
there only been so far like 2 betas with the revenants AFAIK, and those very VERY VERY VERY old builds, that didnt even use the new trait system we have currently, and only had 2 weaponsets and legends, and most of the skills were probably quite different too, so dont count on it really
I think experimentation will be key. From what I’ve heard, we’ll get plenty of equipment to make several sets. So go nuts, I’d say.
How many hours untill the beta thingy starts? I’m useless when it comes to understanding UTC, pacific times and so on.
6 hours 20 minutes
UTC = GMT. In England we’re on BST now which is GMT+1 or UTC+1. PT = UTC-7 or GMT-7 or BST-8. Therefore UTC=PT+7 or BST+8. Most places in Europe are BST+1 or UTC+2 or PT+9. Lol, clear enough?
TL;DR 8pm in England or 9pm for most of Europe.
Welcome to the Internet, exposing characters since the early 80’s.

Nah mate
Well from what you guys have played what was it like?
I usually only play my guardian so thats all i really know but the revenant is the only other class i am really interested in so i was trying to get just a general idea of what i am getting into for the beta.
A bonus with this test is it isn’t going to take place in new areas so you won’t be distracted by trying to see/experience/figure out new things while figuring out Revenant
My suggestion is to first go do something you are really familiar with a zone you really like, a particular dungeon, sPvP whatever and experiment some. The Hammer and Mace/Axe skills are pretty positional (Hammer especially) so that will be something to watch out for.
I’d say since you have all weekend, take time to mouse over all the skills to see what they do and consider a “rotation” that might be effective (eg Guardian GS you want your symbol down before you spin to win, if possible; Rev will have similar synergies to make use of). Set up gear and traits to your liking without worrying if they are min-maxed. Then go fight some easy stuff and work your way up as you figure out what the skills do.
In my Rev test, the first stress test, I think I was one of the few that selected non-default traits. I always want a fall damage trait so I nabbed that. So cool, when I landed I got a purple dome that traveled with me as I ran. I don’t remember what the dome did but it was a Rev skill that triggered on fall. It may have been a missile blocker.
First hint i can give: Do not go underwater. Beta Revenants have no access to any underwater weapons, so you’d better avoid open world underwater locations, or, say, minor things like Underwater Fractal or Honor of the Waves 2 explo paths.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
Change up the gear you start with, and the runes on the ones you get out of the boxes. (You probably don’t want celestial gear for pve, and definitely don’t want Dolyak runes).
The gear matches the legends given.
Mace + axe = Mallyx
Hammer = Jalis
Staff = Ventari (though could also be used for power builds)
Keep in mind none of the above are particularly strong power legends/weapons, so you don’t have anything to compare to your current zerker gear sets.
Definitely play around with the traits given; they’re not optomized.
Mallyx, in particular, has a lot of tricky and fun abilities to deal with situations.
Most of all, have fun
