I just love the concept of that legend, but it’s pretty overwhelming how many people agree that it needs some serious love, we’re just not sure how to fix it. Not a lot has been done to it through the betas sooo is anyone else worry that we’re going to see it stay in the same bad spot it’s in? So far I’ve only seen PvE players and zerg players say good things about it, and I can see WHY they think it’s in a good place as I do enjoy playing those styles of game play on occasion, but realistically in a game that is designed to be fast and full of lots of movement, tablet falls so incredibly short. Small radius, long cast times, high energy costs, not that great of healing, and let’s not even begin to touch on the speed in which it travels. I want nothing more than to play like ventari/glint, but as of right now pretty much every legend far outshines ventari and I’ve seen a whole lot of people agreeing so I know I’m not alone, not to mention I’ve played rev every single beta available.

It’s really player perspective. I’ll admit to being highly disappointed when I first tried the tablet, but I was trying to play the Healer back then. The tablet felt more like a chore than it did a utility item. Once I realized that I could not player the primary healer the tablet was much less disappointing.

Overall, the tablet does not do well when few targets (allies) and large terrains are concerned. It works well in PvE because fights generally take place in small radii, so it’s easy to catch your allies. In zerg situations you can drag the tablet and never miss a heal, The slow and steady sustain is also very very worthwhile in large scale events such as Tequatl. Granted, I’m not gonna bring someone from critical to full without burning massive energy (Druid does that burst healing job much better), but I can keep nearby players pretty healthy on health if I spread the healing/cleansing over time.

In PvP, it doesn’t do too well since the fights are fast paced in most encounters. So rather than worrying about the tablet a player is instead required to focus on micro-managing tablet positioning for best mileage.

Nonetheless, I found a use for the tablet and am happy with it for the most part. Though, I still find myself in the trap of trying to play the healer.

Im worried about it getting nerfed.

all the talk and vids are about ppl running around in zerk gear and omg the dmg!

Well every class hits like a truck in full zerk.

A month or two after HoT releases ppl are going to start looking at other builds. Imagine a ventari spec with cleric amulet as point bunker in spvp. I also tried the new raid dungeon on monday and it worked great there too.

there is a lot of unrealized potential when combined with all those useless ascended magi and cleric drops we been hoarding in our banks.

I also worry that if they try add more to it like increase radius or split the utilities with absent tablet functions they will feel the need to reduce the current tablet skills in the name of balance.

look at engi med kit, all that healing looks good on paper but the reality is the functions are too spread out. better to have everything focused down to as few slots as possible.

If Roy can sneak in some extra radius or reduce energy cost with out nerfing it great but I think he knows how this gonna pan out too. ventari is good at what it does.

Or they might just nerf it to make druids feel better.

a bunker build I was theory crafting.

I agree the tablet’s management seem like much of a chore and take your attention away from combat. The strength of the tablet is also its weakness, you can support people remotely but relocating the tablet is tedious. I’m not quite sure how we can get some way around that to be honest.
One thing seems to bug people the most is when the tablet is not summoned, its skills are grayed out, and it affect reaction time when the situation calls for the specific skill.
I would suggest that :
1) the tablet skills can be activated when the tablet is not summoned, and when activated it summon the tablet right away without having go through the healing slot.
2) decrease maintenance cost for the tablet’s bubble please?

If ya no longer see me after this post,
it means THEY got me for " neg criticism in clever disguise".
Know that it has been fun and I love ya all.

The remote management was actually one of the appeals for me in PvE. One of the fights it shined in was the Molten Duo fractal. It was really fun being able to remotely heal/protect allies while from raining fireballs while dancing around with the Berserker. Removing the casting time from 7-9 was very noticable in fights such as these as in previous BW’s your Rev would have to interrupt himself for a fraction of a second to cast those skills. I realize that the cast time still exists on 6 and 0, but that’s common across most classes.

Tablet has the lowest activation time possible on heal/movement, which is needed because making it instant could make healing fairly trivial. I would probably change how its movement works and make it instantaneous to make it more interesting. Also, make it spawn at the Revenant right when you change legends, because I think the cost to summon it every time you change legends is too prohibitive to make Ventari truly shine.

I really like the idea of the tablet and I had a lot of fun with it (especially the light field and hammer combo). But like some people have said, I’d be more inclined to use it if there were some improvements.

Such as spawning the tablet on legend swap, a small increase to healing and range, and instance cast on the movement so I can move it around while I’m using skills that require that longer cast time. I can’t remember what the elite was, so no opinion in that.

I got it! Let’s have the Tablet channel Shiro so that it shadowsteps rather than dragging itself over when commanded!
