No I am not talking about Doomsday Preppers with their bunkers and canned food stockpiled. I am talking about something more important. HOT Prepping.

As the release date grows closer I have been getting more focused on trying to prep my Rev. From getting gear ready, leveling tomes, runes, sigils, weapons, etc. I even dedicated a area in my bank for Ascended items that will be yanked from my poor Guardian and Warrior to be used for my new and shiny Rev.

On top of playing with Builds on websites, reading over forums posts and waiting for the next beta to try things out, what have you been doing to “prep” for your Rev?

100% done with my revenants gears 2 months ago

My Revenants gear was ready a few days after it’s announcement.

I have a full set of Exotic Celestial, a full set of Ascended & a full line up of ascended weapons, A full set of exotic armor waiting for it’s stats to be selected (this’ll be the WvW set), All the Ascended Accessories i could ever want, and enough level 20 & 30 exp scrolls and tomes of knowledge to level a dozen Revenants to 80.

I try following the rule “every alt for himself” when possible, so I’ll try to get most things for my rev while playing him.
Still, I already reserved enough damask for an eventual ascended armor (and some runes).

I still need to make the weapons and jewelry. I’m not worrying about Ascended. I have the armor, runes and sigils though. As well as 80 levels worth of scrolls and tomes.

Still working on a farewell speech for Oct 23rd when I send my warrior off to the right side of the character selection screen and my new main rev takes that coveted left hand spot. Other then that ascended armor is ready, Flameseeker Prophocies, Juggernaut, and Bolt crafted, sigils picked, and trinket’s prepped. Still mauling over which runes though. I won’t be using tomes as I enjoy the experience of leveling from 1 to 80. I feel it gives me a deeper understanding of the mechanics; might be wrong but hey who cares, still going to be fun.

Prepper, and Prep’d. Only monkey wrench that might throw off things is the Revenant Runes.

I been crafting all the materials to make ascended but I am not sure what stats I want for mainly PVE. Any suggestions?

I have a ton of damask already crafted and ready, now I am stockpiling deldrimor steel for the armor and weapons. Already have enough vision crystals for a full set of armor and 5 weapons. I was lucky and got a Ascended weapon box to drop from Teq last week. I am going to pick a staff because i do not have 500 artificing. 400+ laurels so I am good there, along with all the other stuff including karma, obsidian shards and dark matter.

I am going to use a level 30 scroll and start there, plus I will likely need the skill points anyways.

I’m not even bothering collecting a huge amount of tomes since I’ll have to do almost every skillpoint challenge in the game in order to unlock Herald all the way. This comes with a bunch of levels from all the exploration.

But ya, I’m prepping. I had more fun with the revenant in the beta weekend than I’ve had in quite some time (not that I haven’t been enjoying the game, rev is just that awesome).

Need a back piece, 250 silver Doubloons, and The Colossus…

I have my experience scroll, tomes, bag space increases, etc all set and waiting for the drop.

However, I’m in the process of saving my clothes / mats to decide what stat set I am going to be changing my zerker set too. Leaning towards the Valkyrie set, with Zerk off pieces. But that is yet to be determined.

I’m saving up for the dreamthistle hammer skin that I’ll use on my rev. I have good skins for all the other weapons so I should have that figured out. I’ll be using the tormented sword/staff, marjory’s axe, and fractal mace. Then with the dreamthistle hammer, I will look AWESOME.

Since I’m going to go sylvari I might grind out the TA reward track to get some cool armor skins that match my evil plant look.

I have my tomes and scrolls ready for instant 80 Revenant. I also have full set of Ascended Cleric’s armor and accessories, plus Ascended mace, staff, sword, and legendary shield.

Can’t forget the 18 stacks of Delicious Rice Balls!

Working on it. I’ve only been playing for a few months, so I don’t have vaults full of ascended gear, though I am accumulating mats for them (and need to level some professions). I’m planning to infuse Mawdrey and change the stats on it. I need 4 more guild commendations and 2 more pristine fractal relics to have my trinkets covered. Meanwhile, I have a weapon skin I plan to use and am putting together some armor skins I think will work as well.

So yeah, getting there.

Just last weekend finished everything for my ascended valkyrie armor, and zerker ascended weapons.

Sad thing is I don’t have a 500 craft yet so banks full of dragonite ore and bloodstone dust and emperal shards and all the other insiginas and parts til I level revenant to 400 for each then use tomes to level the rest

I have enough tomes to level to 80. I have boxes of Arah weapons and armor sets from doing pvp so I get him into exotic gear right away. I have a few other pieces like rings and such to give him. I don’t worry about runes and sigils so much. Only if I end up raiding with him. Depends on what the guild needs.

I’ve been assembling gear for my revenant over the past few months. I’m mostly looking to take it into both wvw roaming and fractals, possibly even raids depending on a lot of factors. In that regard, I’m not going for 100% optimized speed running but rather something that works well enough for both game modes.

• Ascended Berserker Armor, with Hoelbrak runes.
• Ascended Berserker Sword(x2), with sigils of Air and Blood.
• Ascended Berserker Hammer, haven’t decided on sigils.
• Legendary Flameseeker Prophecies (transferred from guardian).
• 3 extra bag slots, 7 assorted 20 slot bags (fractal equipment, equipment(x2), craftsman’s, oiled, invisible(x2)).
• Copper Fed Salvage-o-matic, total makeover kit, instant level 20 tome, tome of knowledge(x60).

• variety of ascended trinkets? Check
• Full exotic Pvt armor? Check
• Full ascended zerker armor? 3/6 to go
• Full exotic zerker/rabid weponset? Check

I just have some exotic sets ready. I don’t bother with fractals, so don’t see the point in spending so much money on ascended stuff. If they were needed for raids, I’d get them. But since you don’t need the agony resist stuff for raids, I’ll just keep my money and spend it on other stuff while I’m playing my Revenant. I’m just glad that I finally have a good reason to use my Flameseeker shield. Considering I hate grinding/farming for materials, I worked really hard to get it. :P So I’m happy I can finally use it properly.

I do have a ton of ascended trinkets that I’ve found whilst playing, though. So I saved some money there. xD

Yes, I have full ascended settler weapons, armor, Legendary Shield for role playing points, full set of apothacary accessories. And I am in the middle of making the legendary axe frostfang

Everything is fully infused with WvW toughness infusions

However since the death of Mallyx with the nerfs it prob wont be good and I wasted a lot of time, gold and effort

I got no armor for my Rev(just skins) but im loading up on crafting recipes as he will be my main XD

I have enough stuff to craft my exotic gear (Celestial). Probably won’t bother actually crafting them until I create my Rev, though, no need to clog my bank up with that stuff at this point.

I’ve gathered a few weapon skins for my future Rev, since I’ve actually decided on a weapon theme for her (ocean-based weaponry). Haven’t quite gotten everything just yet, but I’m workin’ on it.

Armor skins will probably be waiting until I actually create my character, since my only heavy armor character currently is a female Sylvari and I plan on making my Rev a female Asura. So the armor is going to look quite different, need the character to properly preview in-game, and website-based previews don’t quite cut it. I guess I could create a “dummy” character or even try to create a character similar to what I’m planning for my Rev to pick out the skins in advance, but… eh. I think I’ll just wait.

Sigils and Runes will have to wait, as I really have no idea what I’m going to run as far as those go. Need to play the character for a while and get a feel for what direction I want to go with them.

Bought the account jump-start as well as an extra bag slot during the anniversary sale, so I have two bag slot expansions ready (though I’ll need a couple more to bring her in-line with my other chars). Haven’t bothered with the bags themselves, will probably hold off on those since Rev will hit right around Halloween so I’ll be able to (hopefully) get a bunch of Halloween Pails for cheap.

Also have the usual makeover kits and stuff handy, but that’s mostly just something I always have on hand and not something specifically for the Revenant.

Interesting to see what armor types people are choosing. looks like valk and zerk are the top faves. I know the Mallayx changes for some people skewed their prepping but we still have another beta to go.

I did purchase a bag slot when they were on sale (the physical one) and have it stored in my bank. I can’t justify the price difference between a 18 to 20 slot bag. And the ones I have are account bound and already used on my main.

I bought a few sets of runes that are currently cheap that might possibly become more popular or even meta comes release. I did this also for my Dare Devil.

Right now I am using my alt to do map clear and farm for ascended via getting iron and platinum ore (<3 my 50% off watchwork pick ) Also forgot ascended weapons need spirit wood for the dowel to make the inscription so I been chopping trees like a mad man.

Right now my bottle neck is dark matter, and I do have some orichalcum banked. I might have to break down craft exotics to salvage them.

I am NOT making any ascended armor. I don’t play often enough to warrant it and actually prefer to make more exotic armors to have different options than just ascended + different professions and so on (armor wise). I do have ascended jewelery though.

That said I have sigils and runes ready for 3 different builds I have in mind for revenant. Need to get some bags and maybe buy 1 set of gear and rest with karma.
I also got Balthazar’s outfit specifically for the revenant and balthazars axe/mace/sword/hammer skins.

Got Superior Sigils of Force, Accuracy, Water, Renewal, Superior Runes of Rage (x120 because of their price increase soon probably), Superior Runes of Tormenting, Superior Runes of Altruism.

Got 113+ Tomes of Knowledge, ~5-6 1-20 scrolls. Will still do 100% map with him.

Now I need to get a couple of weapons. 1 hammer, 1 staff, 1-2 shields, 2-4 swords, 1 axe.

yep, I have a full set of bag slots and bags, permanent tools (including a watchwork pick and copper salvager), a set of Exotic Zerker gear, and Ascended Zerker trinkets and amulet (Althea’s Ashes is hilariously appropriate considering the thematic throwbacks to ritualist, shame we can’t use them to cast Infused Was Althea for a bundle that grants temp agony resist ;P).

I have a 30 scroll, 8 tomes of knowledge, and iirc I can get another 19 from daily login and 7 from dailies for a total of 34 on launch day (and another 3 the day after), so I can instantly hit lv64.

I get 7 levels for reaching 400 in a crafting discipline, so I only need to get to 400 on two disciplines to hit 77, and then I can craft for the last three or simply wait a day for the final tomes, or just wander a few cities to get the last few levels.

now, why am I trying to do as little as possible to get 80? because that way I have ALL OF THE WORLD to get map completion bonuses for, that way I will have a MUCH easier mastery grind, especially thanks to dungeons and the personal story.

as for skins, I’m going to be rocking Heritage until I can figure out how to get Mistward.

other than that, I’ll be trying to get my Hall Of Monuments to 10 points for a skin for my sword that looks good and is free to transmute (6/10 so far, I need to do the campaigns and probably get Norn armor and Destroyer Staff, they seem to be the easiest points).

Whoa, now that’s devotion. What does each bag represent? I’m going to throw a guess in. Pumpkin = Mallyx, Box = Jalis, the 2 bag = Glint. I’m guessing the leather = Ventari (LOL!), and Purple bottle = Shiro.

I actually have 3 extra bag slots in my bank. 2 from the account jump start and one from the sale.

I’ve got everything I need now for a complete set of berserkyrie trinkets and to infuse Mawdrey.

Ahah, almost. Glint is the bottle and Shiro is the bandit bag.
The bottle has that “glamour” color and egg shape. Among all the bags in the game it seemed the most fitting one, and it’s also unique for your account.

Edit: I actually also have the christmas one for Ventari, but it’s only 15-slot

I had full Acended Armor (sinister) crafted for my future condi Rev back in May, and have since crafted hammer, mace, axe, spear, and two swords as well. Though I only crafted spear after this last beta weekend when we found out it was spear. But I pretty much have everything done, just have to decide jewelry choices at this point.

See when I am not out WvWing.. I spend most of my time farming mats for either future crafting or for resale. So it was easy for me to craft a set of ascended in short order as I have most if not all the materials on hand.

Please whisper me ingame and teach me the ways of farming for mats. I feel like I spend gold crazy fast. SIgh. And Iam not even sure what to go for stat wise.

Got 60 tomes and a scroll and a full set of pvp armor boxes saved up along with several thousand WvW tokens to get myself two full sets of exotics, I got like 8 Weapon boxes(including a few ascended), few hundred gold for trinkets(already got some probable Runes and Sigils banked), 300 laurels for extra cash or possibly for an ascended amulet for fractals, and I got 800 gems ready because I have an idea for a look I want that requires Phalanx armor pieces.

I currently have a full set of Ascended Soldier/Sentinel gear ready for my Revenant, along with the scrolls/tomes needed to insta-80. The only thing I’m lacking is ascended aquatic head gear. I’ll have to wait till launch for that.

I’ve yet to decide which stat to craft for my ascended gear but i think i will take at least berseker jewelry.

Need last Ascended Berserk Accessory. Then need to get remaining Rabid ones.

Got Cleric, Berserk and some parts of Dire exotic armors and some weapons. Still waiting till people sell the rest.

Also bought Halloween Pail 20 slot bags *10 (some for my engineer since he had some 15 slots XD) these were ~5g per piece so the best alternative to standard 20 slots.

Is anyone going to instant level 80 via scroll/tomes and then do the personal story to amount additional exp after level 80 to put towards a mastery track? I was under the impression Tomes of Knowledge would work giving you exp after 80 but I believe that is not the case. I have 85 tomes, also I have like 20 tomes that can only be used by characters under level 80 I think this was a personal story reward at the end. All I know is they do not stack :\ Along with a few year 1 and 2 level 20 birthday scrolls.

I also took my alts and parked them at rich iron ores and used a alt to rotate the other maps with the watch work pick for Ascended farming. the amount of deldimor steel you need is too dang high! If the armor does not wipe you, you will be hard pressed for weapons.

I’ll power level him to 80 for sure, then i’ll procede to explore the world at least for the Hero Point and Waypoints needed for the herald (I’ll unlock it first tho, and i’ll leave behind mallyx since in pve i do not see the urge to unlock it).

Anyway Tomes on lv 80 won’t give any exp, just shards ;-)
