This is the first time I tried Revenant on Beta and figured that I should contribute a least a bit to the profession that I am really hyped about, thus, this post.

Disclaimer: This post is just some personal feedbacks regarding Revenant. You guys can disagree but heh, Im just posting here for Roy if he ever read this.

Below are my feedbacks based on WvW and PvP game modes.

On changes:
Weapons Swap = more options = I love it <3

Legends:
Mallyx: Legend skills are fine as it is. Not sure if its intended but displacement is fun screw stability and it actually help to interrupt those stomps by opponents in PvP or WvW.

Ventari: This legend is mainly for WvW or PvE i guess? I did not use it much (I must admit). In PvP, it is not useful at all. Same complains as forum peeps are complaining about – this legend is really slow to utilise.

Jalis: One of the staple legend on my Revenant as I rely on his heal skill for condi cleansing, Taunt is good if it does connect. Pretty much “balanced”.

Shiro: Pretty much “balanced” as well. Same thing as forum peeps are complaining about the Healing. It does not heal on cast but on hit. It is useless when character is stuck in combat but there is no opponent to hit and my HP is low.

Damage output is pretty decent. However it is put off by the survivability issues as I felt that there is high risk yet low reward.

On Blasting field:
Hammer skill #3 and #5 for blasting felt slightly hampered.
Was doing it in WvW, I used Jalis and (used skill #7) build the road, used hammer to blast it but the zerg has already ran past me and far gone. >:

Mace’s fire field and leap blasting are fine.

Overall: I felt that Revenant despite able to generate their own field to blast. Hammer is too slow to execute it as these field do not stay long enough for the animation to play out and the blast to actually happen.

On Survivability and Damage output :
Revenant is not badoverall. However, I feel that it lacks the feel of fitting into a soldier class. Despite equipping heavy armour, Revenant is definitely not on par with the other two heavy classes in terms of survivability.

I definitely felt like a crippled thief, squishy yet I got no escape mechanism when I accidentally run into zerg.

Suggestion:
I also felt that legends can offer more, by channelling a specific legend can perhaps grant bonuses that stays as long as you are in that legend.

Example:

  • Jalis – Increase in toughness
  • Ventari – Increase in healing power
  • Mallyx – Increase in condition power
  • Shiro – Increase in ferocity or precision or power

It would be nice that opponent would have these moments of “Oh kitten , he swap to Jalis and became harder to kill.” and make legends or legend swapping more meaningful.

Side Note
Last but not least, just a shoutout to Anet devs and all people working hard, Thank you for making guild wars 2 it is really fun and I definitely love everything of Tyria. Despite the game suffers from balancing issues and whatnots, it is still awesome the way it is! Best MMO so far on my list! Cheers!
