Staff is very fun to play and I will definitely be running it. Very good improvements on it since the last beta.

Sword #3 seems to have a bug where if you’re fighting an enemy near a cliff, it’ll cancel itself out before completion. You may only get a hit or 2 in with it.

I feel like green isn’t a good choice for Shiro. It just doesn’t feel like it fits the character enough (I played Factions). I think gold would make a much better color for it without stepping on the toes of any other legends. The green hands are a bit much. They almost feel more necroy than Shiro Tagachi.

I don’t know how I feel about about the glowing hand colors for the legends. It’s a decent tell so people know which one you’re running, but it can seriously clash with your characters look, which is half the game. Especially since you’re running 2 legends which may not match in color. I don’t know a good alternative other than maybe lowering the saturation of the color or something.

These are all very nit-picky things. Overall, I’ve been having a ton of fun playing my revenant.

only calling of the things i tried out that far

-Staff
feels overall very good. BUT Skill 2 is still not any good. Its not very rewarding for the timing you need to get to the second skill.

-Mainhand Sword
The AA is a little strange. polishing its animation would help a lot. Skill 2 i don’t feel any feedback if its used successfully, again an animation thing. Skill 3, looks cool

-Offhand Axe
quite good, sometimes feeling that skill 5 doesn’t pull enemies in

-Shiro
Movement Skills and Unrelenting assault are all-around really useful. Great for moving around, reviving other players very fast or quickening your AA. Besides that not that much used in fights for myself

-Jalis
Heal absolutely fine. love the road, nearly perma stab helps alot with some of the new mobs. The rotating hammers should hit a little bit harder, but i’m fine. the taunt should also give yourself retaliation. The Elite…..in theory really strong, 50% dmg reduction to your group without a CD. I can really see why it has that high casting time. yet until it is in effect the reduction maybe not needed anymore. I think it should have a much shorter casting time but a CD to balance it.

-Traits
……lacking good synergy across different lines.

-Glowing Hands
please in the name of god make them only in fight! they are so bright, i really dislike it!

-Staff improvements are really good still I feel that #3 on staff just lacks information on exactly what it does. It blocks attacks but what kind of attacks?

-Sword main-hand overall is good but a bit clunky, #2 just never use it: waste of energy and time. the third skill is good but your character just goes away sometimes chasing a person and the camera has to go to you and you lose a second and you don’t know what the enemy is doing at all during that time.

-Sword off-hand block is perfect however the skil lyou gain frm blocking just does the same like the second skill which is Grasping Shadow, guess it is so you still have that soft cc if your Grasping Shadows is on cooldown.

-SHIRRRROOOOOOO. the heal skill is just noodles. the internal cd on the siphoning is just stupid. it defeats the purpose of the burst healing which you already lack on Revenant Assassin Stance.

-Every Utility skill is amazing. 10/10
Maybe Riposting Shadows from 35 energy to 30. But I can live with this.

-Jade wind is also nice especially the damage on it, able to get sweet 3.5k crits on AoE? Yes, please.

-TRAAAIIIITSSS
Overall synergy between traitlines just is no existable. Corruption and Devastion is work well-ish but none like any other class has. This gives Revenant a pretty bad hit because you either go lackluster damage with great self sustain or go good damage with nearly none self sustain.

-Revenant lacks that instant condition removal because now if I get bombed by lets say a trapper ranger I need to switch to Jalis and then heal.. get staff ready and use #4…. meanwhile I am taking damage and nothing I can do about it since I either die by conditions or just not able to do anything.

Not tried it much yet, but I’ve noticed that displacement skills ignore stability. Surely that can’t be intentional (?).

-Ventari
Having to summon the tablet every time I switch to Ventari is really annoying.
I like the mechanic, I like the idea behind the Tablet and the “management” aspect, but I really feel it should spawn automatically on legend swap.

Complete lack of swiftness in the weapon/trait sets is going to be really unacceptable to a lot of players. (Let’s be serious; the staff trait doesn’t count.)

Rune of the Traveler is going to spike in price when Revenant hits, just so people don’t have to put up with the godsawful, crippled lope of this class.

The internal cd on the Shiro heal is probably not to slow down healing but to slow down outgoing burst damage. Without the icd you could probably use sword#3 while the heal buff is up, for example, and pile on 10k+ damage in a second or two (*I haven’t done the maths, so this number was completely fabricated).

^ I agree about the Shiro heal. You get away with it in PVE, but in PVP/WVW, you’ll get mauled. I say add 3-3.5k to the heal or, even better, reduce the cooldown to 20s ish and improve the effect so you have a chance to out heal a bit of the damage you’ll take.

A lower cooldown will synergize with fury-on-heal traiting as well with matches with fury enhancement with of course benefits all of our traited ferocity… This is the synergies you guys wanted and touted so much in the POI talks.

Great stuff so far.
