Guild Wars 2

Hello fellow Revenants,

I started as a Revenant and I’m only lvl 12 at the moment. First of all what I do like about the Revenant the skills are just awesome imo. I hear a lot of bad responses about the Revenants from guildies. I think you need the feel for it to play it, correct me if I’m wrong.
The first lvls are easy, just follow the storyline and hearts-missions. Now I use 2x 1-h short swords as main option and my other weapon is a 2h-hammer. For now I use the Demon-stance & Dwarf-stance. Switching stances and weapons is a must for a Revenant(imo). Combining for the timing of the skill cooldown durations, otherwise there is a gap that you have to auto-attack wich can be a waste of damage output.
The survivability is key through the 2 healing skills you can combine.

Later on I will be switching the Dwarf-stance for assassin-stance or I go a for more healing if I want to go solo. As for now I just focus on Power, just for the damage.
I will probably change this in later lvls, just to find the right balance…

Anyways I can’t make a good guid yet, but I will change this post in the time I evolve and learn new things…

Hey 2.0, glad you’re liking the Rev. It’s a very interesting class that really plays differently from the others, so kudo to Arenanet for that.

You’ll mainly hear complains from people that play Revs in “meta” contents, like PvP, raids, and T4 fractals, because these modes have steep requirements, gear and utility-wise. Really, this can be extended to all classes, but the Revenant, due to the legends, has less build flexibility, by nature.

But in the rest of the game, you’re free to mix and match the Revenant abilities to reach just the playstyle you like. That being said, I find it hard to not use Jallis in open world PVE for its reliable heal and strong utilities (good hard CC, almost spammable).

Also, when you’ll unlock Herald, you’ll be amazed on how much utilities it brings, at the point that base Revenant seems a little underwhelming after that, much more so that with every other elite spec in the game, imo.

Anyway, still a fun class to play as!

Hope they will change that at the time I hit the Tier4, wich will take wuite some time from now… XD
