That’s not to say that there aren’t more things we are thinking about how to improve or tweak, but we want the profession to get in more playtime and thus more feedback before we make any more larger changes. I’m definitely reading all the feedback and taking under consideration for future changes so keep up the awesome work.
Herald/shiro is god-tier Roy. I’m not actually worried about what the average scrub can do with the herald. But I know what the seasoned players will be doing, and it’s going to cause a lot of problems for game balance, just like the chrono will.

Imo sword auto should go down by 5%, sword 3 should not give any might, glint heal should have some kind of visual indicator, and shiro’s gap closer needs a short 2-3 second cooldown. Start off there and make more fine tune adjustments after that.
Also glad the tablet is getting a buff, its extremely clunky

Even if thats true, they are still skilled and experienced at the game and definitely can tell when something is relatively stronger than everything else. I honestly do not know of a high skilled player who thinks herald is balanced.
The nerfs I put in my post are fairly small and would not break the class at all, and hopefully they can also look at other builds to make them better.
I dont mind losing might on UA..actually im not sure what tis even doing there. Damage and evade is enough. Indicator for Glint? Sure i like shiny things but its not really an issue if you pay attention to bar.
Sword auto is fine and ading cd to phase traversal would break Shiro. One daze from powerlock mesmer and bye mobility for 15 seconds. We already have energy system in and it takes 4 seconds to recover energy from phase..thats enough.

That’s alright mate. I don’t want to be taken seriously. I just want to create a discourse and wake some people up to be a little more honest and proactive. The Herald isn’t one of those ’let’s keep an eye on it’ issues. But I fear the devs feel it might be, which means we may have to deal with a bunch of broken builds for an entire season.
Nobody wants to kill the prof/spec but I’m sure most players will agree that OP outlier builds becoming meta, and the entire game revolving around them (i.e. how do we change our comp to counter that d/d ele, oh lets just use two eles) isn’t really any fun.

Thieves are balanced around their mobility, which is why they are weak at fighting.
You have a good point on the mobility, I personally thought that it could be easier to punish double melee if they did not have a spammable gap closer (but it usually is not used more than twice in any game mode)
Sword rev has the best direct damage in the game, maybe instead of nering sword auto they can nerf the bonus on fury a bit and try to buff other areas (the base rev is fairly solid, just jalis and ventari feel a bit weak and mallyx is in an odd spot now).
Of course im not the best balance person, I just think some of the elite specs offer way too much and sacrifice very little (mostly herald and chrono)
Isnt there already a visual indicator for glints heal, thought i saw the chars chest lit up in a bluish glow, pluss it’s quite noticable the blue icon buff, or maybe thats just me. It would be odd to have a indicator-like buff that lits up the entire rev screaming dont hit me.
Glint shiro is in a good spot overall, but one cant tell for sure yet which spot itll have, also with tweaks done underway

Fair enough, but declaring something OP isn’t a good way to create discourse. If you want to actually have a dialogue, then why not break it down into specific issues that you believe are out of balance so we can talk about them?
The thing is (and yes, I recognize this is a problem) that Revenant is not nearly as much fun to play without Herald. In fact, the profession felt rather incomplete without it, likely due to the fact that, unlike the other professions, the profession was designed with the elite spec in mind. As others have pointed out, this has potential to become a major problem down the road. But for now, any potential changes to Herald need to take this into account, because if you break Herald, you are going to break, to a considerable extent, the entire profession, making this a unique situation. I don’t like that this is the case, but it is the position we are stuck with.
I’m pretty sure big part of arenastaff is actually on hold, vacations, they have rushed HOT for being ready at 23 october and now they are taking vacations. But even without it don’t expect changes to revenant or other classes since at least one month and i’m kind.
I actually can’t say anything about Roy, sure he was kind before release, but it’s pretty sure he is going to take less attention to this now. We can only hope that he is going to be as attentive than Robert on forums.
I’m going myself to be very busy this year, so the time i will be playing, i can do with shiro/Glint even if, sure, more than half of the class is actually broken and underpowered.

I’d say if you haven’t heard anything after the holidays, then by all means whip away.
Please don’t tell this argument again “weakness to condis” when they have barely none. With Glint/shiro, marauder amulet, vampirism rune i haven’t ANY real problem with condi last BWE (only again high stacks of burning and too much condis like other classes). The new trait in retribution line (the proc od ROTGD) make condi management even more easy too. Revenant really don’t have a weakness to conditions. Looks at mesmer for exemple, it’s much more squishy than revenant and without inspiration line have just NOTHING to do with conditions (revenant without Mallyx have Glint heal,regen, shield skills, evade … AND soon a talent in retribution line). When mesmer need to don’t be hit at all (actually mesmer need more skill to play than herald, who makes revenant a child game to play with the upkeep cost of Glint abilities). There is more, when revenant is really tanky with herald and shield mesmer can actually be one shooted (i play Mesmer and i can say you this "condition weakness is clearly none. Would love to have this “weakness” on my mesmer without taking inspiration line). So please stop with that conditions weakness. It’s really a false thing.
The revenant (majoritarly the herald but i hope Jalis and Mallyx would change too) and others elite specs are going to be down and have some changes in one or two months, i’m pretty sure. Currently there is no balance thing on elite specs ( i really hope myself they redone the berserker spec, if none this clearly throw warriors away the meta and let revenants become the more powerfull melee class)
You don’t play a mesmer.
There is so much counter play a mes has vs a revenant it’s sad.
There is no way.
A Revenant should ever counter a mesmer unless that mesmer is terrible.
And if it’s a chrono then that player must be pure garbage.
Chrono in either condi OR power has enough tools to render most if not all of the kits of a revenant obsolete.
To be honest, I’ve been duelling many good Mesmers – Rylock, Yanim and couple more and they have tough time vs. regular Power Revenant on conquest non-condi builds. Pretty much 90% winrate for me.
It mostly comes down to a fact that against shatter mesmer you have some answer to their burst every single time, Mesmer has no unblockable CC and unblockable Mirror Blade isn’t enough.
Second thing is Stability on dodge – it really screws them up. Add Revealed to that, gapclosers and you have very tough matchup against any decent Revenant.
As for Revenants being weak against conditions – be careful here. Power builds tend to be, but Mallyx builds can easily 1v1 Condi Reapers if Reapers don’t time their boon corruptions. Resistance is a powerful tool and using proper skills in a teamfight might give you serious amounts of it.
