Kitten World Domination [Meww] :3
Hello
I can’t seem to find a condi setup for Revenant, could anyone help with the matter? I know I’d like to use Rabid or Sinister with Mace/Axe but beyond that I am unsure. I just made it recently so I’m rather new to the class. Thanks.
Condi builds are too weak so for now dont bother till they dont fix rev one day.
I didn’t ask if it was good or not, I asked what the setup is.
You should specify then if its intended for pve/pvp/wvw. But generally speaking for maximum dps output you go for viper with Mallyx/Glint. Howered if you want to be tanky id suggest traquil something (new stats) now that the food is nerfed.
Ah, it’s just for PvE running around and such. What on earth are Traquil stats? I haven’t seen those yet, I do know Viper’s.
tough/vit/condi dmg/condi dura..something like that.

Trailblazer’s.

I’d be interested in actually seeing the data to support this. Everybody says its the case, and I run power just because I really like sword, but I have a guildie who runs mace malyx/glint and he seems to do competitive dps, while also dealing aoe that I can only compete with while using hammer.
I suspect that condi rev is better than people are giving credit for.

Or your guildie is overexagerating his dps a bit.
I’ve tried Sinister, Vipers and Trailblazer and the damage couldn’t even compete with condi berserker.
Compared to bigboys like Engie’s and Rangers it hits like a moist noodle.

I have used an hybrid with Runes of Grenth (chill) [stats: mostly PVC and some Toughness] for most of my map completion, hammer and changed between mace/axe, mace/sword and sword/sword. Right now I am going with a karma based armour based on Runes of Baltharzar (fire): Rampager

My trinkets are berserker with some mix of condi and precision for back pack.
I switch Legends, but use more or less Jalis/Shiro and sometimes Mallyx/Shiro when I need more AoE. Don’t forget that different combination of weapon also will change which type of fields and finisher you will have with Legends (which in most cases offer fields). Leaching, Might from blasting Fire fields, Whirl provide burn on fire fields and so on will also change what kind of total damage (which includes condition damage).
Sigil I have been useing so far is nn swap sigils like Doom (poison – red. of regeneration; works great with Corruption line a torment), chill (for soft CC), corruption/bloodlust (stacking on kill; remember to have same sigil on UW weapon so you wont reset stack if you fall in water). Play around with sigils to find what works for you and don’t forget that sigils, runes (especially runes that trigger effects on use of healing or elite skill), tools and food all offer different way to prolong duration of condition damage or increase damage.
You didn’t say if you are going mostly alone in PvE (and is it HoT mainly or old Tyria)?

EDIT: What I wanted to say is that Revenants condition damage and power stats actually work well together as long as you remember to adjust for different situation with your traits, sigils (+10 damage for undead work great if you are doing PS or levelling around old Tyria where Zaithans minion are roaming).

If you would use Hammer (which is pure damage) as weapon with Corruption line (Rampant Wex: Critical hits have a chance to cause torment), then you will have condition from Hammer and with Venom Enhancement (Torment now cause Poison) you will get Poison. In short: you have to look closely for what kind of synergies there is between each trait line, weapons own skills/effects and how you can improve those as explained above.
Weapon which is power based on damage (as hammer) can become condition based and with sigils you can get more condition (based on on swap or critical hits).

He’s not telling me anything about his dps, I’m just observing how quickly he kills things in fractals and HoT maps.
You can always try it on PvP dummies. You don’t need to waste gold to try the new build there.
I currently using this build in HoT maps:
just like what ShadowCatz said, Corruption lets you apply Torment when you crit (33% chance), and apply Poison when you apply Torment, and also a chance to apply Chill when crit too, so I think Precision is the key to build Condi Revenant.
As Revenant don’t have much option on condition, and to increase the outgoing damage also not wasted the crit chance I have, I invested some to Power.
I chose Axe as offhand weapon to max the condi dmg I can dash out, but HoT is fxxking danger without shield, Herald’s last trait Soothing Bastion saved my @ss most of the time.
This is not the best condi build, but I quite enjoy this one.
(edited the build url, was wrong :x)

I prefer to use Glint + Shiro. With Impossible Odds, you will hit more with your primary mace to proc up more conditions, plus have a stun break / evac handy. Personally found that more useful than demon.
As for gear, I’ve only played with exotic rabid gear. The low health pool in HoT can be quite unforgiving though, so you have to play it safe. Since you’re within melee range, one wrong move could be your one way ticket to the mists.
