Is it strong? Yeah. OP? no by far…to load out some good condis you have to spam mallyx#8 and mace#2 but first cost much and second is easily avoidable, especially in wvw….i guess you found some people that expected to overcome you but underestimated you instead…u get nuked if you ask for it. For now this happens quite a lot, but as soon as player are used to the revenant’s skill set this will be just fine ;-)

I don’t think we should ever balance the game around WvW roaming, it’s a sandbox environment that’s fundamentally uncompetitive, unlike spvp which is only competitive due to structure for rules and gear.

Also, your condition build would turn out much better if you took retribution over invocation and enhanced bulwark. You get more protection, a reliable source of stability, two conditional -10% damage modifiers, and some AoE weakness application. I tried it in pvp with carrion and it wa very good, but not OP.

It’s helpless against boon removal and it only has swiftness to disengage. Basically it felt like a 2013 spirit ranger with better support and much more active gameplay, but less Rez utility.

I would be a little bit impressed, if that build worked in spvp.

You used in WvW which means you had people not knowing what to expect from you and you had an obvious gear advantage to most people.

This is UA all over again. People think UA is super OP, because they have never seen it and don’t know what to do. Once people figured it out they knew how to handle it and it was less effective.

New Profession + Max Gear doesn’t mean something is OP in pvp.

Hehe, mallyx/herald was really strong. Cele/Shaman/Carrion/Rabid. All worked well. A cele D/D ele alongside a cele revenant is a completely ridiculous combo.

I didn’t see anyone taking any Condi damage in your video until the very end. Half the time I was trying to figure out when you were going to start applying your conditions.

another “revenant x is OP” post? gosh…

Playing something in a game for 2-3 days in a format thats not even PvP where theres a lot of builds that can 1 v X your instantly calling it OP.

I’m with this person. I must be blind since I wasn’t seeing any big condi numbers. I can melt an entire group in seconds on my ele and guardian. Revenant isn’t nearly as potent, but the Herald definitely is a bit tanky.

I mean you took pretty much full Dire gear and are calling the Revenant OP because you sat there in full Toughness/Vitality gear and were able to tank damage against a bunch of WvW randoms?

Show a video of this same build in SPvP dominating 1/2vX and then we’ll talk about whether or not something is “OP” rather than simply functional.

I’m so sick of these ridiculous “blah blah blah is OP” threads when it’s clear that people just don’t understand the class yet. Get a better feel for things before mouthing off that something is op.
