Ok, I’m going to craft a condition ascendant armor for my WvW roaming Revenant (Shiro + Mallyx); I already have chosen to go viper for the weapon stats and dire + rabid for the trinkets, but have doubts about the armor (each piece is [b]very[/i] expensive, so better to not mess up the things). Mostly I’m undecided between going viper, sinister, or a mix between rabid and sinister. An example of the projected build:

Base health will remain the same (~19900), with viper the power will be ~1600, armor around 2800, crit chance ~24.5% and condition duration ~51%. Sinister and sinister/rabid will have a bit less power (~1300-1500), a bit more armor (up to 3000), more crit chance (~30%) but less condition duration (~38%). So, based on your own experiences, which election would be better?

Hi there,

Maybe you would like to use some Trailblazer’s stats? The power around 1600 isn’t that high, since you are using precision you might want to crit for higher damage.

I dont know how a tanky-condi build for WvW works tough, but I will post it anyway.

^ he’s using crits to proc Rampant Vex’s torment & Cruel repercussion’s isn’t as useful when running condi.

I’d change Radiant Revival for Hardening Persistence , when using Impossible odds / Embrace the darkness it gives you a decent sized armor increase. Leave ressing for warriors, even without banner they have +400 armor while ressing if they run tactics.

edit: also I’d consider using Berserker rune for more power & +5% condition damage ; superior rune of undead to be tankier, Superior Rune of Tormenting to max torment duration. The krait rune has a 30s cooldown on the condition spam on elite , you probably don’t want to swap weapons often just to proc bleeding either.

Without the invocation traitline you are highly reliant on shiro for stunbreak.

I feel staff is a better weapon for WvW than sword, having a blast finisher & condi removal is important. Sword+Shield or Sword+Sword is not as strong in WvW compared to PvP because mobility is key.

Viper’s major difference to Sinister is longer condition duration & marginally higher power (14% condition duration , about 60 power for a full armor set). You do know you can make a cheaper set of armor & then mystic forge it to he stats you want, right?

^ Yes to that last question. I do apreciate the advices about the runes, traits and weapons, thanx a lot. About Invocation, I don’t worry too much about since from my experience in PvP most of the time with condition Rev is spent in Shiro legend, anyway.

This is the way to go. You can save a LOT of resources by forging a different stat to Viper (I’m doing Rampager’s since I’m up to my elbows in venom sacs).
