Currently the displacement skill with Mallyx does not take into account defiance on anything. You can use the skill on anything with defiance stacks and it will not touch them despite moving the boss.

For example, Mossman, would constantly get pushed out of the field over and over again.

It also moves mobs that are ’’Unstopable’’ aka totally immune to CC like the Risen abomanations and Risen Giants. I gotta admit, it’s kinda funny to see a giant getting tp’d every few seconds xD

Well, defiance is being replaced with defiance bars, so making it work for it would be pointless.

Edit: But it is displacing things that I think should never be displaced, such as rooted wurms. Imagine if a piece of content requires the creature to stand still in one spot and this displaces it.

So at least some creatures should be made ‘immune to teleports’. So they can’t be forcefully displaced like this.

Displacement shouldn’t work through stability. If I burn my plague or armor of earth to stomp a revenant, it should work. Because if rangers and necros and guardians can’t stop a stomp through stability, than why should revenant be able to?

I posted it on reddit, will summarize here as well:

  • ignores Defiance
  • ignores immunity against CCs and stability
  • doesn’t ignore: righteous indignation (wvw lords)
  • also moves downed enemies
  • works on more than 5 targets
  • mostly stacks the targets together!

enemies you can displace (=move) for example every few seconds (tested):
Lupicus, CoF p1 end boss, champs with defiance, enemies in wvw,
tested by ZuruiKonzatsu: jademaw tentacles, CoE destroyer boss, wurm in TA
tested by some other players in forums: Old Tom (Asura fractal)

the move it does should just be considered as a pull or other hard cc by the game, so that you can’t move all things around which actually are not supposed to be moved.
also the stacking up possibility can be used nicely. I tried on 7 svanir in wayfarer hills and after using the skill they were exactly on one spot.
Unfortunately I hadn’t the chance to use it on an enemy zerg. Imagine what would happen if you could stack 10 people of your enemy zerg on one spot

Tequatl is actually more like animated terrain or a huge object. But I wonder about he invisible objects that have the target markers and that are the ones we actually hit.

Could those be moved? I hope not!

Was doing the champ giant in cursed shore and melee couldn’t even get a hit in because it was displace, displace, displace every 2 seconds. He ended up over where scholar Zepa does her search.

This skill is worse than a zerg full of bearbows spamming LB #4.

Also you should mention the torment caps at 3 (6 if condi met). Doesnt matter how many pulses or times they come back into it doesnt add any more torment/damage. So basically this skill is just the ultimate troll.

I enjoy it, but just wish it at least stacked some torment damage for all the hatred/trolling its causing for party members.
