The Ritualist
A discipline once thought lost to the mists of time, a few Revenants have become Ritualists. These ethereal summoners channel other-worldly energies that allow the physical manifestation of various legendary spirits to aid allies and destroy enemy’s spirits! A jack of all trades that can easily adapt to the current situation by summoning the most appropriate spirit. If you feel a trait or skill is to strong then suggest a reasonable recharge time. Please rate and improve!
New condition Hex- boons that a foe gains once inflicted by hex inflict their opposite condition as well

Class Mechanic
Spirits Binding-stat increase dependent on energy level (0-100 energy = 0-20% stat increase, should be balanced as a majority of time energy will be sub 50% from energy consumption).

• Ghostly Srike (auto-attack)- range 900 chain 1; damage foe
o Haunting rend- chain 2; damage foe and area around foe

Utility – Spirits
Utilities are legendary spirits that can assist the Ritualist in battle. Legend slot will be called spirit realm. They are summoned where ritualist stands and have 1 second cast time. Also: locked to position were spawned, cannot spawn spirits 200 range of each other, attacks are unblockable, once summoned spirit skill flips over to spirit attack skill, spirit attacks recharge every 5 seconds, summoning costs nothing but attacks cost energy, can be destroyed and disappear when the Ritualist is more than 1200 away.

• Ventari. (Heal Skill)- Range 150 aoe, daze enemies and heal 2000 and grant regeneration, cure 3 conditions from allies

Nice work but isn’t revenant supposed to be a “soldier” profession ? This sounds more like a necro spec…

If scepter main hand, what’s you plan for offhand ? Current sword and axe does not feel like matching with this…

The ritualist spirits description from Guild wars 1 specifically says they are different from necromancer minions and Ranger spirits so that excludes them.

I think off hand sword or axe are fine fits depending on the build.

It’s more like a completely different class than an elite of rev. GW1 Ritualists had a very different mechanic including use of the ashes..not just summoning spirits.

It is funny how many people try to fit the concept of ritualist in Espec (top three being Necro, Rev and Guard). I am always interested by reading such suggestion as being ritualist at heart since Factions.
Your ideas are quite nice, I like it a lot even if other concept as ashes and wepons buffs are out. Anyway almost every features of ritualist made a conceptual come back in GW2, but they are scattered in every profession.

Yeah GW2 just lend itself to a 1 to 1 transfer of all mechanics from GW1, something had to be left behind so I ditched ashes and weapon buffs.

I’ve said this before in other class sub-forums, and I’ll keep saying it until people get it. The GW1 classes that are not alrdy in GW2 will never be introduced in the game as they were, and certainly not by their original names. Not even as ESpecs. What could happen, however, is they introduce a mantle bearer of sorts. Just like thieves are mantle bearers to assassins.

But that’s basically just a naming issue, u can just rename this and I’ll be happy. ^^

Or well, not quite. This ESpec doesn’t fit how the class works currently, in order to do that it would have to summon a legend that is a Ritualist. That could be Master Togo for example but it still doesn’t quite fit. What happens to the spirits when you swap to assassin stance, for example? Do they just sit there useless, or do they have an AA, or maybe they get destroyed? Or do they have an AA that’s based on the stance you are in?

Furthermore, I dislike the idea of physically summoning the spirits of these powerful beings. Remember what happened the last time Shiro was physically summoned? Revenants summon only their essence, the spirit isn’t physically there. So while spirit summoning isn’t off the table, I think they should be nameless spirits, since being a spirit itself grants power. And the spirit summoning could well be the elite skill, whereas utilities could draw on that. Like cleansing a condi for each spirit you have in the world. Healing for X amount for each spirit you have in the world. A certain baseline should be there for when you have yet to summon any spirits.

And lastly, I think we’d need an off-hand weapon for this as well. While the current off-hands might work mechanically, they don’t work conceptually. Focus would, on the other hand, and I really don’t see a reason why they wouldn’t give us both OH and MH.

Yannir for males. (guard,thief,war,ele)
Sonya for females. (necro,rev,ranger,mes,engi)
All classes lvl 80.
