Energy consumption from wep skills?
L2legendswap.
Basically stop camping one legend and join the infinite energy club.
Energy cost on weapon is there to punish you if you mismanage your energy, and also an anty camping mechanic.
They want you to feel the power of invoking the legend.
Also ws have short cd. Energy cost is needed.

It’s hardly punishing if I can just swap to another legend and get insta 50% energy. Camping one legend isn’t really a bad thing, and if it is then it shouldn’t be. I get that they want to make it balanced, but the energy consumption on weapon skills seems too tedious. It’s not like I can spam the skill like on Thief. It’s already gated by the cooldown. If you’re going to gate the skills with energy then give us ways to replenish energy just like how Thief can replenish Initiative with traits and utility.
If I’m on Glint, then swap to Shiro for Jade Wind, what should I do afterwards? Just auto attack? Should I camp Shiro until Glint is back up then use Jade Wind, then swap to Glint so I actually have energy?
Of course, it’s punishing if you don’t swap or if you spend all your energy before you can swap again (has cd).
And simply don’t use jade winds on 50 energy, lol. THAT, sir, is mismanaging, and you should be punished with wait time.
On the opposite side, if you stay on glint for 10 seconds and then swap to shiro, you can end up having many seconds of fury, might, wuickness and jade daggers. Way better then simply fury + might. That, sir, is called reward

It’s math. No swap? 5 energy per second. Swap? 5 energy per second + 50 every 10 seconds = 10 energy per second.
Swapping legend gives you up to 2x the energy. Have fun
Energy cost on weapon skills needs to remain simply because of the way Facets work on the Herald now.
BUT, and this is a pretty big but. The energy cost on said weapon skills is way too high, they should be things like 5 to 8 energy, but some of them cost 15+, it’s a bit ridiculous.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA

There is an unusual disparity in energy costs between weapons.
Mace and hammer are super cheap. Sword and axe are in the middle. Staff is really expensive.
Astaxanthas (Revenant), Hepaticus (Engineer), Eosinophus (Thief)

I agree, 5 to 8 is a good number, Semi unrelated but Ventaris tablet is way too consuming as well, if I move it then I barely have enough energy to use the skills unless I’ve already built up 100 energy. A lot of the energy consumption needs to be lowered
I think weapon skills should still use energy, but just less of it. As previously mentioned, the costs are unbalanced among different weapon sets, as staff has ridiculously high costs whereas hammer has very little.
I think energy itself is fine.
Keep the costs for offensive skills high, just reduce the energy costs of defensive/support skills.
