“Good morning fellow Tyrians! Plyxi here! After navigating through the fractals of the mist and wading through the sea of ascended rings, we have finally located the afterlife lair of the legendary prophet Glint!”
“For those of you who don’t know, Glint is the prestigious dragon hero of the first Guildwars and bestselling author of the Flamseeker prophecies – which has sold over 1 trillion copies after being published 1000 years ago. Eye on Tyria is excited to bring you this exclusive interview!”
Plyxi: “Good morning Glint! Or do you prefer to go by Glaust?”
Glint: “Glint is fine. Glaust is just a throw back to my college days as a young dragon attending the Elder Dragon University. Kralkatorrik was pretty mad when it found out I dropped out.”
Plyxi: “Was there any specific reason that made you decide not to pursue your education for an Elder Dragon degree?”
Glint: “Well, to be honest, I was playing way too much Guildwars 1. Getting preggers didn’t help either. I had to choose between my education and my eggs. As you know, eggs always come first.”
Plyxi: “Well, it all seems to have worked out for you -except for the dying part of course. The flameseeker prophecies have sold over 1 trillion copies worldwide and can be found everywhere from the tattered first edition at the durmand priority to the new flashy neon versions inscribed on those legendary shields. How would you describe your success as a writer?”
Glint: “Well I consider myself a realist. I think people are a bit tired of fantasy and fiction. I just write things how they are… or how they will happen. I suppose foretelling the future helps a bit too.”
Plyxi: “Can you tell us more about your ability to foretell the future?”
Glint: She laughs and grins. “It’s quite simple really. I’m just subscribed to the blog posts from Dulfy and that_shaman.”
Plyxi: “Glint, we’ve heard rumors that you will be returning to the new Guildwars 2: Heart of Thorns expansion as the elite legend for the Revenant class. What can you tell us about this?”
Glint: “Well, as a prophet I saw this coming several thousand years ago but yes, the rumors are true.”
Plyxi: “Can you drop us any hints about how your elite specialization and legend will play?”
Glint: “Well, despite my -” At this point of the interview the dragon suddenly stops in mid sentence and falls asleep.
Plyxi: “Erm… Ms. Glint?” Plyxi gives the camera a confused look then taps the dragon on the nose a few times before shrugging. The dragon suddenly stirs back awake.
Glint: “Oh… sorry about that. Sometimes if I skip a few decades of sleep, the Crystal Hiberation kicks in. Where were we?”
Plyxi: “Whew! I thought we lost you! I was just asking about your legend.”
Glint: “Ah! Right! Well, despite my precognitive abilities I can’t say too much because the Devs made me sign a 70 page NDA. However, I can say that it will have something to do with signets. It will also inflict a new condition on the enemy. I believe this condition is called ‘REKT.’”
Plyxi: “Fascinating. Do you think you will get along with the other legends?”
Glint: “Well, Jalis and I go way back to the brotherhood of the dragon. He used to watch my kids you know. The thing is, Jalis is sort of a stubborn old fashioned type. He’s used to the days where you could just pick up a gear and run into Sorrows Furnace expecting to tank every mob there with just healing hands. You should have seen his face when I told him Guildwars 2 doesn’t have any tanks.” She sighs. “That didn’t stop him from slotting a bar full of tanking skills though. Sometimes you can’t teach an old dwarf new tricks.”
Plyxi: “What about Ventari? He is a fellow writer and has had some success marketing his Tablet to the Sylvari readers. Do you think you might mesh well with him?”
Glint: “You know, I read his tablet and it’s a bit idealistic. I think his writing style also bleeds into his legend. He tries to use too many quirky mechanics that just don’t work. Sometimes you have to go back to the basics. I keep telling him: Boonprot Ventari, Boonprot.”
Plyxi: “Well I did want to ask a few more questions but it appears that we are running short on time before we get swept up by the mists and join the dead ourselves. There is one final question that I just HAVE to ask though… you know, with you being a legendary prophet and all.”
Glint: “Oh?”
Plyxi: “Is Jon Snow really dead?”
Glint pauses for a moment then points a crystal finger off screen. The camera pans to show the ghost of the dead Jon Snow wandering the mists.
Plyxi: “Well! I guess that explains it! Thank you Ms. Glint for your time. And thank you fellow Eye on Tyria fans! Stay tuned for our next interview and don’t forget to keep those preorders rolling in!”
The voice of Jon Snow can be heard in the background “Ygritte! Ygritte where are you!”
