Hammer #2 damage
It’s definitely possible…. IF you’re a full glass spec hitting a full glass spec target with the last explosion on Hammer #2.
Funnily enough, there are other skills in the game that can do this kind of damage in this scenario, and they’re much harder to avoid/counter.
I think you’ll also need Cruel Repercussion active for it to do that much damage.
You need all the damage modifiers, but yeah, I believe that if all the stars align in the sky, it’s possible.

But it is worth noting that cruel repercussion is on a 15 second cooldown.

The absolute maximum that I can seem to get is 8000-9000.
Are you including things like food, banners and other team boosts and infusions and stuff? Any idea on the specific build required to do this?

All modifiers in Invocation, Herald, and Corruption in PvP with both classes being in zerker(and the victim being in Light armor) with Scholar runes, some Might stacking, several conditions(+Resistance), several boons and activating Cruel Repercussions, Unrelenting Assault(I actually used Devastation over Invocation for this one) did well over 20k and CoR on Hammer did well above 15k.
If you somehow manage to do this in an actual fight though, I think you deserve the kills.

Did you mean devastation rather than corruption? Also I don’t think conditions count since those don’t contribute to the damage of UA/CoR. Also, for UA, you can’t activate cruel repercussions for each of the 7 hits.

The conditions counted because of Bolstered Anguish which gives +3% damage per condition on you.
just go marauder and herald, charge up all your facets before entering battle with fury and 10+ might and you can get some really nasty aoe hit with 2 3

Like Ghotistyx said, I used that trait for +18% damage(I had my friend use Signet of Spite on me)and then I used EtD for a +10% stat boost.
For UA, Cruel Repercussions doesn’t work, which is why I mentioned that I used Devastation over Invocation :L

Yes it can. What’s wrong with that ? You need max range for that a lot of might, high ferocity, berserk gear, and 25 vuln stacks on the enemy and also be sure the skill doesn’t bug out on you because of the terrain.
Where else otherwise is Rev supposed to take his dmg from ? Hammer 1? 3? 5? Vengeful hammers? Inspiring Reinforcement? Forced Engagement? Rite of the Great Dwarf?
As you see it does this sort of dmg because otherwise Rev will not do dmg. Rev cannot stack bazillion burns or anything of the sort. That’s why some of his attacks need to make up for it. If you simply used Hammer 1 then everyone would laugh at you :P
We don’t have 100 Blades + burst, Shatters, or backstabs. AN wanted to make hammer slow and hard hitting and #2 is just that. Single powerful attack instead of 10 weaker ones (like 100B)

Revenant CoR can very easy hit 9k+ on average armor targets (around 2500 armor) on a 2s CD (also can’t be reflected) and the auto-attack frequently does 4-5k at 1500 range (+300 due to projectile bonus).
The problem isn’t necessarily the damage, but how easy it is to access and how little effort it takes to do. Yes, an enemy can dodge it once, maybe even twice, but even if they manage that, the 3rd one will probably kill them (6s into the fight).
If weapons need specific OP skills to be viable, then the weapon is not well balanced across all of its skills. This is even more horrible than Rapid Fire, and on par with, if not worse than Gun Flame.
Hammer #2 needs to be looked at.

Enemy should close the gap as fast as possible to a hammer rev. Hammer loses it damage at close range. Thats first. Second. Hammer 2 can be strafed at mid-long range (useless at close) so thats purely l2p issue. Hammer is supposed to be devastating at range so that weapon is completely fine outside of some bugs. Ah btw real cd is 3sec due to aftercast.

Actually it’s good because it means other skills can have other roles and not just be a part of the dps rotation thus becoming spammed on CD.
Unless they double DMG of #1 I don’t see them nerfing H2 because There are no other sources of dmg.
IT also ONLY hits for such dmg under very specific conditions. Vulnerability, low armor, zerk gear.
If zerk player hits other zerk player for a lot with it that’s fine. It does 50% less dmg at minimum range. They cannot nerf this without providing other sources of dmg that will also balance cast time:dmg ratio. Skill is also very easy to dodge or run away from due to how impacts work. Again remember that dmg is only at long range. Rangers barrage will do pretty much the same dmg at point blank and max range.
Remember Hammer and specifically Hammer 2 has an extreme amount of counterplays!. You can jump on any sort of Box, wall or w/e and it will not even hit you which is the epitome of silly. It’s completely useless against targets that aren’t on flat ground on the same level as rev. Other ranged weapons don’t suffer from this.
Skills shouldn’t be balanced around the worst players but against those who know how to play.

In my case, it was like this.
-damage modifier traits
-might stacking
-both players zerker
It was a duel, rev vs scrapper/daredevil/chrono.
Also we wanted to confirm it so we tested it and it works. Definitely 10-15k

What you are describing is “to shatter” not “impact”.
