Hammer/Staff? Any Suggestions?
Need to answer a few questions first:
What role do you want to play in WvW? Roaming, Small group (Havoc/+), Frontline Zerger, Backline Zerger?
Do you want support, DPS, combo?
What type of damage do you want? Power, Condi, Hybrid?
I will add that Hammer is a given in WvW. You’ll need it always.

I’ve been taking staff over hammer in smaller fights, usually around 8 people or so. Staff is much more reliable and useful in most situations aside from the obvious one where you -need- range, like ZvZ. Really wish hammer had more purpose than its 2 skill.
Sorry, I should have been more specific. More for front line in WvW. And I am looking more towards DPS, but good combo would be nice. More of Power for DMG. But would be interested in a Roaming build!

Would I still need Hammer if I wanted to be frontline condi zerging?
I can think of my own pros and cons, but I do like to hear others’ reasoning.
If you play zerky take hammer, but if you want to use staff you have to tank up as you will be taking a lot of damage due to being face to face all the time.
shrio is better for hammer as you will need to be mobile not tanky.

Hammer staff.. Mix of valk/cav/zerk weapons (and I use celest trinkets)
I have 2500ish power, 80ish crit chance, 204% crit dmg, 2700ish armor, 24kish hp. I am not even full ascended but these stats with hammer/staff are proving effective in pretty much all areas of WvW, for me.
I use Glint/Mallyx. I used to run Jalis before everyone Bandwagoned due to bug, but from my experience the mobility and condi resistance of mallyx wins out.
I have a character named A Guy With A Stick, which is a WvW support Revenant. He only uses Hammer and Staff.
- Can Maintain 100% uptime of projectile blocking shield (easier when the fight doesn’t move too fast.)
- Can Maintain 50% uptime Light Field (Condi-Removal) & 50% uptime Dark Field (Life-Stealing).
- 3 Condi-Cleansing skills, Cleansing projectiles most of the time, and Cleansing whirls (staff 1 can whirl even when whacking a wall).
- 3 Blast finishers.
It is a sturdy build meant more for preventing damage, cleansing condi’s, and healing than doing big damage. Most of the time it is all about maintaining projectile shields with hammer, but when necessary Jalis and Staff for charging in.
I dont see them builds posted
How about some solo Roaming WvW builds? Just curious if anyone can point me i n some sort of direction? Much appreciated!!
Looking for some Power builds also for Rev WvW if anyone doesn’t mind? Anything would help!!!

Basicaly, you run Jallins and Ventari. You got my respect for making that work mate.

Ehh WvW makes it a lot easier. Nomad and ministrels compensate for most of our weaknesses…
