Hammer, lack of traits
hammer auto is a cleave, you hit everything on the way to its target and back.
field of the mists is on a 12s cooldown, a reflect on that would be overkill.
i agree that there is a lack of hammer traits but it would be needed to tone down the skills before it’s even possible to add traits for them because they’re already that strong.
tbh hammer is broken and way too strong for what it is, buffs not needed, rather nerfs.
Hammer AA pierces and can hit up to 5 targets if they are unlucky enough to stand behind eachother. Also this AA hits like a truck.
Skill #2 also hits like a truck (with 25 might, 25 vuln and max range, about 15k – 20k dmg, maybe a little less, on a 2 second CD) so we don’t need further buffing there.
Making Hammer #4 reflect projectiles is actually a good idea but we have enough reflect classes (Mesmer, Guardian).
So buffing the hammer in general and via traits isn’t that much of a good idea, because we don’t need extra “xyz-Rev-Weapon is OP”-Threads. We already have a heated discussion on Sword #3 Unrelenting Assault.
hammer1 – best autoattack on range with great dps
hammer2 – great range dps on 3rd pulse on 2 sec cd ….
hammer3 – evade frame with traveloption if you have orb ^^ and good dps
hammer4 – block wall on 12sec cd … nice
hammer 5 – knowdown EPIC great for offense and defense to kite
Hammer is my favorite, just standing outpoint and shoot them all because capping and then losing is more important ^^, also this will be my first crafted legendary

Revenant is not designed to be pigeonholed into weapon traits like everyone else. Thats the first mistake they did with other classes. Try to run gs war without gs trait..

Agree, in almost every old build you are basically forced to take the weapon traits to be effective. I’m glad they stepped away from that with HoT, now the new weapons are good from the start so there is no need for a trait.
While I get why you would think that, leave it be. It’s in a great spot already.
Yeah in its current form hammer doesnt need any traits, it’s already a powerful weapon. As someone else noted, it’s great that there isnt a trait tied to the weapon as that would “force” potential powerbuilds into certain traitlines, which hinders overall options.

1500 isnt even fully accurate, its more like 1800. because it keeps going.

Depends on what you need it for. Best for farming/tagging, nothing beats guardian staff auto. Best for long range dps, mesmer GS auto is better.
