Herald and Dragonhunter Icon Switch
Just no
Dragonhunter got a bow, we got a dragon; an actual dragon that we channel. Ergo dragon icon is perfect for revanent.
No. We like our awesome dragon icon.
just because you don’t want your crappy icon doesn’t mean we want it instead ;P
and yes, herald is ALL about glint, considering we literally have a copy of her soul living in our brains that we draw power from.
i posted about this at the start of bwe3, people almost “flamed” me in this forum for it :’(
dh icon > herald icon (herald elite > dh elite)
i wouldn’t mind the dragon head if it wasn’t that ugly..

Yep, but you compared the guardians weapon with our “new” utilities…
Traps <→ Dragon
Longbow <→ Shield

I thought you were only joking. The opening post essentially says the Herald should get an arrowhead icon because it more closely represents what, a shield? He is not clear on that point. What he is clear about is that the Dragonhunter should get the dragon icon because they hunt dragons. Fair enough and while that is a valid argument hunting is not the same as channeling. In order to hunt you use a weapon of some sorts; rifle, trap, or bow? Hunting is not the same as channeling which is what the Herald is doing; therefore, I feel the dragon icon is best for Herald. My reply was thematic only. The Dragonhunter gained a bow in order to hunt. The Herald gained a dragon to channel. The opening post and my reply were thematic based, not weapon.

Since many Guardians do not plan to roll Dragon Hunter we won’t have to worry about mixing up the confusion of their icons.
However if they added in PVP a 20% damage to Herald’s while using the Dragon Hunter Elite the tables might turn

I’d rather just continue to pretend that nothing related to the Dragonhunter even exists.
Leave my dragon alone fifthy guardians! :P
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.
Don’t even try.
You know you’re wrong. I know. You know. Everyone knows and we don’t want your rubbish arrowhead (“Shield”).
Again. Don’t even try.
The dragonhunter icon is an point of arrow, you barelly a hunter of dragon. Herald icon is a dragoness (Glint). It would don’t make sense to change them coz a dragonhunter hunt dragons and don’t are one. Moreover an arrow for Herald don’t fit (maybe for a pyre fiertir legend latter who know)
The amount of jimmies that have been rustled over a suggestion is way too high lol.

Actually he’s very clear on that point. He said specifically it looks more like a shield, and I agree. I assumed when they were datamined that the dragon would be the dragonhunter, because obviously. I also figured we’d get the shield because the only other elite getting a shield was obviously the clock.
Yes Glint is awesome and so the dragon icon fits in that sense, but I mean Dragon is specifically in the name, Herald does not evoke the image of a dragon, Dragonhunter can’t help but do so.
Chronomancer is getting a shield and wells, but the icon they get is the obvious choice of a clock because it’s what they’re about.

The only jimmies rustled is OP’s. -_-"

Good point, and I said there was grounds for a valid argument myself.
Fair enough and while that is a valid argument…
But I still don’t want to give up my dragon for a shield.
To be clear, it is not JUST a dragon, it is designed specifically as a crystalline dragon, ie. Glint. The sharp angles are intended to indicate that, so swapping it would be silly. Herald is if anything closest to being an actual Dragon and thus warrants the symbol. It doesn’t really make sense to define Dragonhunter by what they’re hunting, but more by what they’re hunting/fighting with. For Herald, you are literally fighting with Glint, or using her as a weapon. You can see that same naming convention with the regular classes and the other elite specs. Rangers have a paw print because pets are the crucial weapon in their kitten nal. Thief’s have a knife and a key, symbolic in a way of things they use as their weapons or tools. Druid has a sort of eclipse scene, invoking thoughts of the celestial powers they use. They don’t always do a fantastic job of this, but it’s clearly what they’re trying for, and I agree that they sort of wronged Dragonhunters with what they did choose for them, but they did an absolutely flawless job with Herald, and I don’t think anyone should take that away.
