Herald nothing more than a boon bot?
Regen and fury stack duration, so it isn’t preventing anything.
I happen to like staying in Glint most of the time, but with the boon duration, you don’t have to do that if you don’t want (see Obal’s thread for an example).
Not a chance in heck they are going to increase the length of the boons.
I like the revenant, i like it a lot, every legend is aimed at one specific aspect of the game’s combat system and i like being able to specialise like that.
But the Herald (which really fun to have) does not seem to be more than a walking alternative to guardian staff 3, ele fire fields and blasts and PS warriors, as to get any benefit for yourself from this legend you have to stay in it for a longish time to let the boons stack up so you can use them on your other legend, being that a tanky/dpsy/healing/condi spec, the durations are just too short and reapplication is too frequent you end up staying for like 12 seconds to get sufficient might stacks and fury duration to benefit from, not to mention you’re preventing other people from applying their own (possibly better) versions of regen for example, or longer duration might and fury.
Imo the base boon durations of herald skills should be increased by 1 second, because atm the herald is only good if you build specifically for it and stay in the glint stance all the time, which is just stagnant gameplay.
you need to play rev more my man. Staying in glint is is extremely counter productive, youre only meant to go into it to stack boons and then swap over to shiro or mallyx
If you’re not swapping between legends at recharge or near after recharge, you’re not maximizing your DPS. Properly resetting Facet of Nature by running down your energy instead of by activating One with Nature allows you to reapply Facet of Nature every time you swap to Legendary Dragon Stance and thus maintain all of your applied boons on self and party even when you’re swapped to Legendary Assassin Stance or Legendary Demon Stance for 10 seconds when done properly.
yup
usual rotation for me is…
Pre-Fight have all 3 Glint utilities active
Opening: F2 > Axe 4 > Sword 3 > Glint AoE Breath > Glint 5 x2 > AA til Sword 3 > Sword 3
Legend Swap > Shiro Heal > Shiro Imp Odds > AA til Glint is off CD > Legend Swap > F2 > All Glints Utilties upkeep > Glint AoE Breath > Sword 3 > Repeat
Use Glint Elite on CD or save it for break bars….Jade Winds can be used instead of Imp Odds after legend swap for break bars as well
I enjoy the secondary activations on the Glint 7 8 9 skills. Remove stealth, apply conditions (including burning) and apply huge vulnerability stacks.
Meh, I’m lazy and just stay in Glint all the time while putting the hammer down like Thor. But then I’m just doing HoT events and don’t care about ‘maximizing dps’. Already I have ~100% crit chance and ~220% crit dmg; that’s good enough for me. :P
Fojja – Vyxxi – Nymmra – Mymmra – Champion of Dwayna .. and more
Highly Over Powered Explorers [HOPE] – Desolation EU

Glance over how you describe your rotation. Because impossible odds and f2 cannot be active at the same time.

I don’t think Herald is just about boons, but even if it was… isn’t that a valid direction to take a specialization? Isn’t providing boons as valid as dealing damage or providing heals? I really, really like the fact that you can either sit in Glint a little more than usual to make sure that you provide important boons to people near you or else just burn through energy to swap legends faster if you need to provide another role, but with significant boons lingering still.
Maybe it just resonates with me since in other MMOs, and indeed rpgs I have always played the characters that can cross boundaries and dabble in two types of things, such as melee/magic damage, buffing/tanking etc. I feel like most classes in GW2 does this but Revenant just has access to a lot of ways to help.

the same reason i was playing guard and now maining revenant.
revenant have everything againts anything everywhere and its also Strong.
-Total War: Warhammer
-Guild Wars 2
I find the Glint/Shiro combination very strong. Get up your might, swiftness, regen and protection in glint. Switch to shiro (gain fury by doing so) and nuke things down. Very strong.
Glint isn’t only buffs. You can also put your buffs on CD for other nice skills. It is quite powerful.

When you run out of energy it turns off F2 which is when you switch legend and you get no cool down on the F2. I do the same rotation and it’s awesome.
Using any other sword ability except 1 is a dps loss

Sword 3 on a single target and Axe 4 are actually a DPS increase as long as you don’t currently have Impossible Odds active, I believe.
