So… im playing gw2 for almost 3 years, but i almost havent bought it cuz ritualist wasnt there but i bought it anyway.
Revenant is the closest to a ritualist(i love spirit and mists theme)
im so hyped for revenant i made a full ascended set full infused with +5 prec and +5 agony on every item.
all other classes seems boring and all im waiting for is the revenant.

I’m pretty hyped for Revenant especially after the Shiro reveal. I’ve been craving for a proper magically based swordfighter type of class for a long time and Guardian just was too… light-based. I’m glad they chose some evil characters for Revenant. I love the idea of calling on aggressive, evil powers and bending them to your will for the greater good!

I am also happy to see it coming. Working towards bolt, ascended heavy armor, and another ascended back item for the rev. I’ve jumped what my main is so many times it took three years for me to finally settle on just running my ranger more because I wanted one toon for fractals than anything else. I am hoping that rev is the class that finally clicks for me.

At the Moment i am still hyped for the Revenant but i hope it is not only because it is new. When i play GW2 nowadays i am like:

1. “yeah, i am back home from work, let’s have some fun with GW2”
2. Starting Guild Wars 2 and logging in
3. “hmm which Toon should i play”? Then i go through all my characters in the log in Screen with different shapes of “No”, “Meh” and “Not at the Moment”
4. if i make it past the Login i enjoy the game for several hours or am bored after a few minutes.

None of the Characters i have atm make me WANT to play. When i am at work or on the way home i am always like “I take my Mesmer into WvW tonight” or “I will make a few Fractals with my Ranger” or “I am going to test this new Idea for my Necro”.

But when i finally arrive at the Login Screen and have the choice, it is all meh again :-(. I hope the Revenant fixes that.

In current state i wont touch him with a stick due to;

-Lower amount of utilities (12) than older classes (20),
-0 customization in utility skills
-Weak utilities across the board and many suggestions to buff them were simply ignored like dwarf rite..
-A lot of weak and boring traits, invocation has nothing to do with our mechanic, its just a fury line for pve. Pvp meta will be dev/retri/glint line without a doubt.
-Weapon skills has too high cd/cost too much energy for what they doing/are useless/too slow. It depend son the skill really..but for example sword 4 with 15cd, 15energy for a block and another 15 energy for (total 30energy) 2sec immo? Or drop the hammer with laughable 240 radius 2sec casttime?
-Lack of sustain, active defenses
-Interesing mechanic based on utility swap but kinda failed in the practice which..
-lead to cheap and uninspired bandaid – weapon swap, that completely broke the profession for me

So nop, atm i have nearly 0 interest in playing one, let alone main..I had plans to main it, but that was before weapon swap and im not satisfied with the changed recently made. 3 of our 4 legends remain useless, hammer still slow as..(at least increase radius on 3 and 5 to 360?….). It is also a bit funny as i have saved 5000gold for him. I guess these money will go to dragonhunter if nothing will change to release about my mentioned issues.

I haven’t played the Rev yet, but I am definitely interested. I am not sure how “done” the class will be for this weekend but I hope to get a good feel for the playstyle and hopefully it will be what I am looking for.

That is not without saying that as primarily a WvW, PvP player I already have some concerns that Rev will not fulfill my requirements.

I am cautiously hopeful to make my revenant my main… At least I can’t be more dissatisfied with it than I am over my necro main currently. If not, I can always sell the legendaries and grab something else.

I am saving my decision based off my experience after this beta weekend and the elite reveal.

My biggest concern is many people became really hyped about Rev after the Shiro reveal. This is not good considering that is only a portion, not the whole of the entire profession. I do not look forward to the play Shiro or GTFO potential this profession might be doomed for.

Voted yes, and am super hyped up for it! Still working on my equipment for him though, and I’m holding off on selecting his stats yets.

@skowcia, I disagree with most of what you said, but hey, it’s your opinion, right?

Tbh I will settle for Exotic armors purchased with karma like zerk etc and some crafted + ascended jewelery. Don’t know yet what will be good.

Got TOKs and Scrolls and so on though.

Well.. the juggernaut is done next week, just missing some silver doubloons for the vial of quicksilver to finish my sacrifice for zomorros, 2 ascended zerker swords with chain whip skins are ready, cele trinkets and zerker armor (ascended) is ready, a shadow of grenth backpiece is ready too, 3 unlimited gathering tools are prepared, 20 slot bags are ready, lvl 20 scroll and tomes are ready, a (atm) valkyrie staff is prepared and its skin is ready too, also a secondary hammer with zerk stats and daydreamer skin and a zerker axe with marjory axe skin, aquabreather is ready.. but since i dunno the underwater weapons i wait to buy these…but i got fractal skins for all of them just in case, all colours i need are bought and ready, everything is infused and together i got 85 AR. Tansmutation charges are available to make it all look pretty. Only thing i dont know just yet are the sigils and runes…oh yea and the bullskull shoulders, gotta buy the skin…so yeh.. you COULD say im pretty excited for the class…now i just hope it does not suck, gonna be my first heavy i make since i play the game afterall. Im used to engi(that i main) and i gonna judge the class accordingly.

On a scale from 1 to Precursor I would be Eternity

You’re gonna be salty as kitten if the ascended armor and precision infusions you made aren’t the best when HoT rolls around.

I’ve kinda lost interest in expansion news, sure I’m reading it, but the info has been going on so long that I just kinda reached the point of meh. I’ll get hyped again maybe when we actually have a release date and are within a couple days of it coming out.

They are releasing info not fast enough, half of the elite specializations are still a big question mark, not to mention the lack of a release date.
The expansion was announced almost 8 months ago and there’s still a lot to know, I think they are so behind schedule that they really don’t have any of the above information.

I was hyped, but the last beta has made me… hesitant. I’m probably gonna play through HoT on my other characters first anyway.

The only Weapons missing are Mace, Axe and Hammer, not very thiefy to begin with, except for the Mace if your Name is Garret and you are a Master Thief of course.
