Guild Wars 2

I’ve done the first section of the story and got a Mastery point, which unlocked gliding. It said I had 1 point available. Then when I beamed back to the map it give me another Mastery point, so now I have 2.

How do I spend it on the gliding basics? It’s still saying 0/6

Do I have to wait until I get 6 available before I can upgrade it?

You have to actually have gliding selected and leveled. Once you level the mastery you can use the points.

What contributes to leveling gliding?

You have to be doing anything in a HoT map. Normal xp goes towards it. Outside of HoT in core game you just get the mastery points
