I’m currently trying to get into Revenant. I’m really enjoying the class in PvE, but as someone who has played every class in PvP since the release of the game, I have never felt so handicapped as I do when playing a Revenant.

How do we actually, meaningfully, survive the current meta? Staff 4 & Cleansing Channel just don’t seem like they’re really enough, especially against venom share thieves, necros, mesmers, warriors, engineers…and when most teams your face have at-least 2 (often 5) of these condi heavy builds, what are we actually meant to do?

I’ll admit I’m still very new to Revenant in PvP, but I’ve never taken this long to get a hold of a classes most efficient way to deal with conditions… Revenant just doesn’t seem to have anything.

Advice? How do we survive this condi abuse meta?

Play with Mallyx, tons of resistance.

If you are running shiro/glint don’t get hit in the first place and burst them down.
Assuming there aren’t thieves or power revs you can go shiro/mallyx and get a high resistance uptime (on a condi build).

Runes of lyssa if you’re running herald. Then just faceroll their condis to insta cleanse them. You will get lots of boons and a necro with a deck of cooldowns.

I tried running knights ammy with hoelbrek runes…it seemed to work pretty well not sure if it was a ton better with condis then the meta tho

Well the revenant has subpar tools to cope with condis, unless you are running malyx which makes you vulnerable to professions with boon hate, which makes the most efficient strategy for a power rev is to avoid getting hit.

Specifically, I use Shiro and staff to avoid focus and reposition. Los and going out of range are your best friends. Another strategy can be to pressure a condi user into playing defensively, making it harder for them to hit you without dying to your pressure. Unrelenting assault is another classic offensive/defensive strategy, especially combined with enchanted daggers, to avoid damage during your burst.
