I believe there wont be any major changes
working on an expac is not an excuse to leave one of the most important additions of the last expac in a half finished state. bullkitten like that is how you destroy a game before you even get to that next expac.
I believe there wont be any major changes due to the developers working on the next Expansion. So all major changes will be on that Xpac update and will pretty much ignore the base class till then.
they did this with Necromancer and Ranger up to the release of the first expansion.
So just bite on something for now. I believe we getting something good.
Did necromancers get anything good?
They got a garbage greatsword nobody uses outside open world PvE because it’s so terrible, and the reaper traitline is a PvP traitline. Reaper shouts are worthless in raids and reaper got no % damage increase traits, reaper shroud is a DPS loss to just camping autoattack on greatsword which is already bad DPS.
Don’t think for a second an expansion will mean good changes.
Rangers wanted a viable DPS spec, and instead they forced them to be healbots.

Did hey say good changes? He said major changes. So calm down and i think he is 100% right. Necro and druid got huge changes.

What’s the point in major changes if they’re not good changes?
As for druid, at least they are viable in more than one spot for raids, currently. While I’ll always love and play necro, it does kitten me off that they’re supposed to be the selfish dps class yet they have the 2nd lowest dps in the game and very little party support, whereas the favoured child of Anet has top dps and some of the best party support in the game.

Not for the better, so what’s the point of changes if those changes suck anyways.
We are now a jack of all trades, master of none that doesn’t bring the power dps / raw healing of tempest, nor the condi dps of engineers, our equivalents in leather and cloth armour. They have 4 options:
-Rework base revenant so that it can work without Glint. From my point of view, base classes should be at least somewhat usable. This doesn’t happen with revenant because it was designed with Glint in mind. And look us now, from a pve’s point of view we’re dead now that Glint is dead.
-Rework Glint. It would probably limit our build options and we would be sensitive to Glint nerfs, again. I’ve always thought that Glint should be a glue that strengthens every other legend, maybe they thought boons were the way to go.
-Rework the entire class. This probably would be the best option, imo. But I don’t think they’ve courage to accept that the class isn’t good enough in anything. Keep the legends theme, change the mechanics and abilities.
-Do nothing and wait till e-spec. This is the worst option. Build diversity wouldn’t exist, since (again) the new legend would be mandatory and the class would remain dead until the next expac.
So I hope that you’re wrong and that they’re not taking the last option. I’d love to see a thoroughly thought balance patch that brings life to this class, but somehow I doubt it, considering the balance team has avoided any meaningful buff to revenant. The class can’t go worse (well, maybe some nerfs to hammer for wvw builds), so changes are welcome imo.
Revenant reminds me of Dervish and how they nerf it and left dying for years before reworking it. I hope we dont need to wait that long. If next balance patch dont fix many revenant problems like ventari tablet, then i dont believe they even want to.
Only way to know that is Anet responds and tells us what they are planning with the Revenant but like a lot of other game companies they no longer listen to their players in the forums.
Why? Well I can say on every forum people put in negative posts, complaints, bickering, and most of all trolling. So I believe only way for Anet to read the post and responds if theirs info on to why theirs something wrong with the Class aka Profession explaining why it doesn’t work. Then someone replies with more good info than replying and putting down the main author of the thread.
I really do like to hear responses from Anet about what’s going on with the game but since a lot of negative posts Anet won’t respond to us.
Other than that So far I do like the Revenant I just leveled my character to 80 so far I am seeing problems with it. The Revenant feels clunky squishy for a plate wearer, no wieldable Greatsword like most the other classes do and I feel that this class needs a Greatsword.
I do agree the Centaur needs some work I like to heal as the Revenant but the heals feel underpowered and clunky.
The Glint I do agree needs to be buffed or removed I myself couldn’t stay alive with Glint when going against multiple enemies.
In the end Revenant dose need to be rebuffed but on certain areas which I can’t say but if ya read the other posts ya can see why.
For the Class itself its a good fun but being broken and nerfed really bad would make the class unplayable even though its a new class I really do like Revenant I just hope Anet dose fix the class right before the xpack which to me I think is not a good idea delaying for the next xpack.
I do hope that we will hear from Anet about the Revenant so far fingers crossed.

Last time I participated in this forum, around 8-9 months ago, most people were suggesting changes in a very positive way, many of them changes were absolutely better than the revenant we have now. But they butchered the profession by not giving it any attention other than nerfs, so a very negative environment replaced it.
Let’s be clear, the balance team doesn’t communicate. They barely participate in AMA’s, and I haven’t seen anyone replying in this forum except for one time in the bug list thread.

Because “good” is a lot more subjective than “major”?
For better or worse, major changes shake things up. So from a certain perspective all major changes could be viewed as good changes, depending on one’s personal definition of good. To some people a change would only be considered good if it was 100% their own idea/implementation.
It’s unfinished just like that legendary armor they’ve been promissing for a while. I think it’s been 1 year now huh? I wish game developers had a different approach nowadays. Like selling finished products, instead of those rough versions of everything we get.

The 2nd lowest DPS number is done on a assumption of every class having 25 might and 25 vuln, with 100% fury uptime.
If you parse classes with only their own native boons, necros jump way up the DPS rankings due to being able to self-stack might and vuln on top of crit enhancing traits.
Necro is the selfish DPS class. The problem is that all relevant content is group content where PS warriors exist.
