Just throwing around some ideas and suggestions. May add some ideas for base class as well after.

I strongly believe Legendary Renegade Stance skills should all have dual functions as a form of Well/Minion chain skill combo.

Unlike Necromancer Wells, Our Wells( Warband) can be killed and CCed. So the trade off here is that alongside the Warband minion summons,

1) they provide both an Wells(or Aura or whatever you want to call it) effect to those standing in the circle radius.

2) They Attack Enemies or Support Allies or both with their own unique skills.

3)They all have a chain skill effect that can be used once the Warband minion is on the field. This skill can do unique things, But the Chain skill sends the whole skill into a short cooldown.


Lets start with some examples of the current skills.

Heal Skill: Breakrazor’s Bastion-

1) Summon Era Breakrazor to heal your allies in while shielding them from condition damage.

2) Era Breakrazor grants barrier shields to an ally.

3) Channel energy to Era, healing allies in area of you and Era, every second for 6 seconds.


Just an example. Skill has aura passive, NPC does its own unique skills passively on their own, and while NPC summon skill is active you can use chain skill to activate a unique skill of its own, and resets for small cooldown. the Chain effect can have the Energy cost, while the summons themselves have low energy cost.

Same concept should apply to all the Renegade Legend skills.


As for Weapon (Short Bow)

I believe this could be made a bit more special and unique. There are lots of Portals in the skill description, why not add a way for Revenants to use those portals as an after effect for mobile defense and moving around the enemy, sort of like Mesmers do.
This could also make the Kalla’s Fervor concept more accessible over all, since this would give Revenants a way to safely move in closer to the enemy and jump back as needed while portals are on the field as a result of using one of the weapon skills.

I like the idea of being able to channel energy through spirits to do something extra.

That would not only make gameplay more interesting but also enhance the renegade’s poor identity.

Kalla was a leader. We don’t see that in Renegade’s current form apart from her summoning minions. If she’s inspiring them on to greater efforts through these extra abilities, we see a bit more leadership.

It also potentially solves the problem of cooldowns. Eg. Darkrazor’s Daring with its 6s of aoe interruption is obviously a bit OP. But if that gets moved into an extra skill then maybe the actual summoning abilities wouldn’t need cooldowns and also wouldn’t need to expire so quickly or possibly at all.

So we would have more flexibility and freedom in how we use the spirits. Hooray!

That would potentially create a new problem though in how do we move / create new spirits? Because the button to do that now activates their special ability.

I’ll propose a solution. Rather than making them ‘chain’ abilities, make this an F skill called something like “Kalla’s Inspiration” or just “Inspire”.

If you have Kalla active and the spirit has been summoned, that F skill plus the spirit’s button will perform the special action. If no spirit is summoned that F skill would be greyed out.

If you have your other legend active, that F skill targets might target the nearest spirit to the revenant.

I second this! Its better than just dropping a spirit and thats it. This to me seems more impactful.

I keep hearing the elite specializations being described as things that completely change the class. In my experience, they feel more like secondary professions, but even then, there’s one place where I don’t feel like that is true: the Revenant.

The Revenants just get to choose between which extra legend they get.

When we first learned about Revenant and the Elite Specializations back in Heart of Thorns, I was really looking forward to the crazy things Revenant could get in the future. I speculated about a Dervish parallel if we ever went to Elona.

I still think we should get that. Dervish should be a Revenant Elite Specialization that trades out channeling legends with channeling gods (not literally, but a similar mechanic). With the gods relevant again, and all races joining in on the fight (and visiting their most sacred places in Orr), I don’t think this is out of place.

Kalla Scorchrazor should just be added as a base Legend, increasing the skill options for the base class.

This would obviously be too late to implement by launch of the expansion, but I really think the Revenant Elite Specializations should be a little more ambitious to fulfill the goal of the system and to prevent the Revenant from getting stuck in a pattern.
