Hey all! I am returning from being off for quite sometime and have never really maxed a character.
Well now I have the opportunity to make a level 80 character through the level 80 token!
Anyway I am looking for advice on how Revenant is looking cause I was thinking of playing it cause it sounds fun.
When I brought the issue up with some other people through random chats or other facets of chat they all border screaming at me “NO!” “Play something else!”

To clarify I am by no means an MMO noob. I’ve been apart of a lot of different MMO’s and know that I am going to take part in PVE and PVP to a point I want to get into WvW and roaming and stuff but I will also get into PVE to the point of eventually raiding.

The problem is I can not play more than one character. I realistically only have time for one and I wanted that one to be the Revenant.

But I am open to other suggestions if Rev is really as bad as people say.

TL;DR: Rev any good?

From the aspect of Roaming , I’d (personally) suggest Druid over Revenant as things currently stand. Its got great survivability and mobility for it. Scrapper can be pretty useful roaming and in small groups too due to how durable they are and the support they can provide.

In WvW, Revenant does fairly well in Zergs by providing frontline Resistance/Rite of the Great Dwarf for damage mitigation, or spiking in the back line with Coalescence of Ruin from Hammer if you’re into rolling with a group, while also providing might/fury/swiftness passively with Glint. Some even use Ventari to support with healing, which is pretty decent as well. All in all, Revenant does much more in a group than as a solo roamer.

Raids/PVE/Fractals?
I’d say Druid as it offers unique buffs and reasonable DPS (condition) for the latter. Engineer’s an option if you want something more complex, as they have a wide array of skills and kits to employ (though it can make rotations difficult to manage without some practice)

Revenant also handles well enough in Fractals as well if you’re focused on playing one for that content.

Keep in mind that an expansion is coming and there is a lot that will likely change VERY soon.

Sorry to hijack your thread op but as some one who is looking at rev to main like yourself, for most aspects for the game, I prefer to stick to one character and only once yes it limits me. are my thoughts wrong? Is a rev a cross between a thief with its fast agile attacks and a warrior who can take more damage?
