I’ve tried, but it just comes off too simplistic.

Stack buffs in herald, make sure you’re running crit and might the entire time, then use sword 3, and survive until your next burst rotation is up.

Thats a boiled down version of it, but thats literally what the gameplay revolves around solely.

After coming from Mesmer and Engineer, I was looking forward to a more advanced melee class, but revenant just hasn’t delivered yet. You don’t stance dance based on situation, you do it based on your rotation, and that is simply weak.

No people choose glint because its so easy and passive to play, and they can survive burst without havinhg to do anything but rotate blocks and heals.
People just like easy mode press 1 button builds

Shiro/Mallyx marauder is the best thing I’ve played besides the stupid glint power builds.

I’ve felt the same way. I don’t like not having any slot skill variety, makes every revenant play the same and feel standard.

And how is that bad?

Because people are onto using 40% of the utilities available to the class and mallyx and Jalis offer a great deal of tactical and strategic strength for any build, but most people don’t take it since it’s just easier to take glint and spam boons and use infuse light.

Don’t know why… I’m destroying people in pvp & wvw. Sitting at 2200 power, 2400 armor, 23k health, 100% crit, 202% crit damage self buffed.

I mean… the class is frankly OP as hell…. running around self buffed with those stats.. I can then swap to shiro and kill most people I find in pvp in about 4-5 seconds… some in less time. Bunker builds with a lot of block are the only thing that gives me any trouble.. and even then.. it’s just a matter of taking a little longer to kill them.

The only class I’ve seen more ridiculous are trap dragon hunters basically 1 shotting people with traps.

Then don’t play it. Simple.

Im sorry but have u considered that those u fight are garbage and not representative? If anyone dies to u in 5 seconds they clearly dont know how to play, even more so when ur stats show ur not full zerk/offensive. Also, the class is not ‘OP as hell’, u would know that had u fought competent players.

ive said it a million times, the only thing that makes rev extremely powerful in pvp is the glint heal. Other than that, its a powerhouse that can get rekt if not played in the right hands. Rev comes off as simple, I completely get it, but its more about rotating and know WHEN to rotate that makes it interesting. If you played D/D ele in the past, Rev feels somewhat similar (pvp wise)

We are all good vs bad players Nothing new

Also dragonhunter doesn’t one shot players, people around here like to make exaggerated statements.

What made me upset about the shiro herald rev is that its a good bruiser for 1v1 power builds, but u have little o shiii utilities making u an easy target to take down in group spvp fights. Hammer is also quite useless to dish out dmg with when focused, and being double melee swordshield staff also locks u out vs ranged. I guess i wanted it to be more of an advaned warr class, but it doesnt provide much options in how u wanna build it (and the 3 other legends really isnt up to par vs brain).

It is however a great pve class though

Are you joking? Riposting shadows, infuse light, unrelenting assault and crystal hibernation are all amazing skills for surviving team fights. Hell, if you’re being focused by multiple opponents, infuse is almost a guaranteed full heal! Heralds have amazing uptime on vigor, evade frames, blocking, and invulnerability.

I find that Revenant’s strength in pvp comes from the fact that 90% of your dps is Sword 1 auto, so all you have to do is stick on someone and you put insane pressure on them.

There are no telegraphed burst skills for them to dodge, you’re just auto’ing them for 3k-4k crits constantly.

The skill comes from making sure you have good melee uptime on your target and using your skills to avoid damage since Revenant sustain is relatively weak.
