You’re thinking in terms of the vanilla maps. I would assume that the new expansion maps would be more condition heavy compared to the vanilla game and might fit better there.
What Dante said seems true to me.
From my experiance in the last beta with Rev in the new HoT zone the mobs were a lot more punishing it seemed. They also seemed harder to kill (but that may have mostly been because of Revs lack of damage).
Seems to me GW2 is in the middle of some major Flux in preparation for the HoT drop, and no doubt a lot of changes, like the major specialization change that increased DPS across the board, will make more sense when HoT comes out

Was this while you were in celestial armor? Perhaps running around in with a bit more sinister/berserker/other offense oriented stat combos would reduce the difficulty?
My understanding is that with the expansion they’re modding all the maps outside the starter areas to function similarly to Dry Top/Silverwastes. Maybe that will solve this issue as well?

Yes, hence why I said that may have just been because of the lack of damage.
Still though, even 1 on 1 the vet mobs in the new area were significantly more difficult than a elite mob in Arah Explorable this past weekend when I was playing Rev as well. So I’m more inclined to think the former.
But, this is all just speculation. I don’t have hard numbers for it. Just my personal experiance on Rev both times.

Hopefully this is true, I really like the Silverwastes, which is my only place where I play (every other map is simply farming map, since hostile NPCs cannot fight at all, and I hate farming), solo on 1vs1 is possible with any build and requires use of dodging and defense related abilities. Group events are more destructive, especially if Charger Teragriffs gather up and so on.
And yes, the whole problem I pointed out in original post is about every other map, except Dry Top and Silverwastes.
Since I’ve been criticizing and attempted to make constructive suggestions for rather long time.

Good to know someone who knows Heart of Thorns content already.

The problem with building the revenant around HoT zones, is that they will need to level up in core zones before they get there. If the profession does not function very well in the core game it will be a long and painful slog to get to the areas where they do perform well.
They need to make sure the profession works well in both the core game and the expac, otherwise there are going to be a lot of unhappy players. However, Anet has stated they are reading our feedback and have already made adjustments to the revenant based on that feedback, some of which may be quite significant changes. On top of that we will get to see Shiro. We will just have to wait for the next beta to see what has changed and how well those changes work. Hopefully we will not have to wait too long for that.
