List of Revenant Bugs
1.) Tablet sometimes gets stuck when you move to a higher elevation than it. Seems to have problems with higher/lower ground and staircases. When you die the tablet sometimes stays out there and will not return to you unless destroyed with the elite or legend swapped.
Pretty game breaking when the object all your support skills rely on will not respond to you. By far the worst bug.
2.) Running as a female human and spamming staff 1 causes the attack animation to get jerky and reset over and over. Not sure if this happens on males. Needs an animation fix to smoothen it out. It looks like the animation is resetting too early.
3.) Whirling hammers sometimes autocancels for no reason or fails to activate, even with proper energy.
4.) Staff 4 skill sometimes autocancels itself even when not moving. Seems overly sensitive to movement. This skill sucks and should probably be changed anyway.
(edited by lordhelmos.7623)
- Axe 4 (Frigid Blitz) will often not hit after the initial shadowstep to the target
- Mace 3 (Echoing Eruption) has a good chance to change the direction you are facing mi-jump, which makes it really hard to blast the fire-field mace 2 (Searing Fissure) with more than just one of the multiple blast finishers from the mace 3 attack
- Not sure how often this happens, but if you are downed after spawning the Ventari Utility Skill (Protective Solace) and are able to rally quickly off the opponent, the available energy will reset to 50% and the shield won’t drain any energy while remaining active endlessly. Cut-scenes in dungeons seem to cancel the infinite shield
- The Mallyx Utility Skill (Unyielding Anguish) ignores defiance on bosses and even teleports immovable bosses outside their intended areas (such as the champion nightmare vine at the start of TA, Lupi in Arah, and other champion/legendary opponents. (Not sure if working as intended or not, but definitely fun when doing content with friends who enjoy the chaos.) On a related note, displacing Lupi creates a graphical bug around it during the displacement

1.) You can cancel cast-stow mallyx spells to stack resistance (caps at about 17 seconds atm).
2.) You can spam Mallyx elite to trigger the daze Salvation trait.
3.) The Daze Salvation trait doesn’t actually daze at all. It shows that it dazes, but it has no effect. (Lol)
4.) Taunt can get stuck at times, remaining permanent in effect. Distance to detarget is required.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
There is a weird purple cube animation that plays when swapping legends to Ventari. Only appears for a split second.
Hammer 3 (Phase Smash) often causes pve mobs to reset
Phase Smash also does not work when casting to a lower position (z axis).
It looks like it does but the aoe is on the same level that you are casting from, not the destination level.

—Female characters’ audio is male grunts of effort when moving the centaur tablet or activating the tablet’s elite explosion utility.
—I died while a tablet was active, then waypointed. The tablet was gone, but I lost the ability to cast a new one or command the old one until I gated out of the zone.
—Female characters’ audio is male grunts of effort when moving the centaur tablet or activating the tablet’s elite explosion utility.
I think that those grunts are Ventari as you are channelling him
Encountered another bug where I do not rally despite killing other enemies. My character appears to stand up and walk around but the revival screen still stays. When my health ticks down to zero, I still die.
As reported in bug section with screens:
1) missing Hammer skill1 animation when trasnformed into a ghost in AC. I believe this also occurs with other transformations
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Revenant-missin-hammer-AA-while-ghost-in-AC
2) dark square around Ventari tablet when moving it with skill #5
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Grey-square-when-moving-Ventari-Tablet-around
It’s more visible in certain maps

I agree that staff 4 skill sometimes cancels by accident, but as to whether it sucks, to be honest the only thing I think it really needs is to be made into a blast finisher. Group condition cleanse and slight heal is fine in and of itself. Maybe a shorter cast animation?

They are, occasionally the legends you are channeling “talk” to you.
Many of the ground abilities simply fail to land on uneven terrain. That is hammer 2, hammer 3, mace 2, axe 5. That is gamebreaking.
I’ve found if you are at less than 50 energy, and you start the Mallyx Elite, then stop it before the degeneration takes you to 0 energy, you will begin to regenerate energy, but the regeneration is permanent until you use another skill. This will take you all the way up to 100 energy and you will just stay at 100 until you use a skill.
The outgoing heal traits don’t affect the tablet skills.

Mallyx Elite only copies 1 stack of each condition currently applied. (Unsure if intended)
Stowing some skills (eg. Jalis elite+taunt) will spend their energy cost regardless.
Equilibrium (Invocation Master I) doesn’t appear in the combat log in both cases.
Invigorating Flow (Invocation Master II) doesn’t proc off weapon skills and doesn’t appear in the combat log.
Roiling Mists (Invocation GM I) increases fury to 50% crit chance rather than 30%.
Charged Mists (Invocation GM II) doesn’t proc off weapon skills.

When doing CoF Path 2, unable to attack Eternal Flame with Mace AA, even when standing right on top of it. Had to use Whirling Hammers or get OOC and swap to Hammer to do any damage to it. Might not have occurred until after the Eternal Flame started to show visible damage.

Invigorating Flow – According to the tooltip, Invigorating Flow triggers off skills that use energy. It is currently only working for utility skills and does not trigger on weapon skills that use energy.
I think overall need fix to
-Increased damage in all respects.
-Lots of skills need lower activation time. (cds are fine, but taking 1s+ to activate almost every single skill is a bit much)
-Unyielding anguish caps at 3 torment (6 if condi met) and does not add more on pulses even if mob keeps coming into aoe. This skill also ignores resistance and stability.
-Many channeling skills wont work unless you are in combat (energy moving up and down)
-Also ventari tablet protective solace works against things like weapons test fracal. (it might work vs catapults/trebs etc, just haven’t had chance to test it) I have no problem with this one but could be easily abused if true.
Aside from lack of escape/block/swiftness etc etc seems alright considering it is only half available.

That is intended. Guardian Bubbles and Reflects and every other Reflect works against them aswell. Trebs and Cats wont be affected because their Projectiles are unblockable
3.) The Daze Salvation trait doesn’t actually daze at all. It shows that it dazes, but it has no effect. (Lol)
Was going to comment on the same, and also mention how ANet may want to reconsider this trait instead of fixing it. I had envisioned a troll build spamming the Mallyx Elite. I tried it on golems and saw the daze being applied, but then noticed in actual play that it was like the “daze” applied by Launch Personal Battering Ram when it was bugged. Still, if fixed to work as currently intended, this would be very high uptime daze since one can keep it up for a long time.
- Axe 4 (Frigid Blitz) will often not hit after the initial shadowstep to the target
I’ve tested this a lot in Heart of the Mists and it seems the final strike only works 10% of the time, even if I am using the skill from the exact same spot at the exact same target. Really hurts the already low damage that revenant has.
Tarnished Coast
Some of the staff skills (#2 at least) spawn a small mote of mist that circles you a few times before disappearing. Doesn’t seem to do anything.

That’s the Invocation minor trait. Using energy spawns a must orb that heals allies on contact. When swapping legends it consumes any up to instantly heal the revenant.
Has a really silly 5 second ICD too. Much like everything else on revenant, unnecessarily weak, generally speaking.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
In Dry Top during sandstorms, a shadowed box appears around the tablet when you move it. A shadowed box also appears when using certain weapon skills. I noticed it especially on mace 3, but I think it’s there for some others too.

That’s not only a problem restricted to Rev. Most 1h mh weapon have this problem. Ranger’s mh sword, Thief’s mh dagger and sword, Warrior’s mh axe, etc. You can hit it but the positioning is a bit tricky.
As for bug Selfless Amplification GM under Salvation, does not work.
- Jalis Utility Skill (Vengeful Hammers) has a good chance to dismiss the hammers immediately after summoning them or randomly during a fight. Additionally, the hammers seem to have trouble interacting with certain terrain such as the entrance to the Crucible of Eternity where they fall onto the water below when you walk on an energy bridge; if summoned on the bridge, they also fall underneath, and they are unable to return to you even after you walk off of the bridge (need to cancel and resummon.) Finally, if you summon the hammers while standing on a ledge, the hammers have a chance to fall off the ledge and disappear below.
- Not sure how to replicate this, but I was randomly displacing enemies in dungeons when I walked into melee range (as the only revenant in the party), even without the Mallyx legend active. Dying seemed to fix the issue.
- Logging out in the middle of Hammer 3 (Phase Smash) makes the game crash and teleports you to the target location when logging back in.

- edit: regarding Vengeful Hammers, the hammers that spawn will disappear as soon as they hit a wall or an object. I doubt this is working as intended due to the cast time and constant energy drain, but I could be wrong.
- Opinion: This skill is practically unuseable in many closed spaces in my opinion, which leads to a wasted utility slot in certain areas especially if revenant isn’t gaining more utility skills in the future.

Really? I ran Axe/Mace warrior all the time before the specialization patch and never had problem hitting it. Is this a recent thing or was I just standing in the right spot all that time?

I’m not sure about the crash, but the logging back in at target area thing has partly to do with the fact that the guy leaping forward during Hammer 3’s animation is actually you, and not just something that shows up for the skill. It’s partly why the camera’s a bit wonky when you use it sometimes, because it’s using new tech to lock it in place at where you were standing when you first used the skill. It also probably has to do with why it doesn’t work very well with uneven terrain, and not at all when crossing gaps. Which reminds me of another bug:
Uncategorized Fractal: Attempting to use Hammer 3 at the very beginning on the first harpy on the fractal while standing at the starting location can teleport and down you as if you fell off one of the platforms right after it lands. Might be something to do with you “passing” through the zone that teleports and downs you. Didn’t occur when trying to Hammer 3 across gaps in Heart of the Mists, so dunno if it’s just that spot/fractal or not.
As for Vengeful Hammers, I think the problem is that the hammers are actual projectiles/objects, rather than simply a visual effect, which is why it has problems with interacting with the environment in seemingly strange ways. You can even increase how often they hit by moving clockwise around the target. I think the better idea would be to make it a pulsing AoE centered on you rather than a pair of projectiles circling around you.
(edited by Foefaller.1082)
Vengeful Hammers get destroyed when they make contact with objects in the environment that are not attackable. Such as a Wall, Rock, Tree, etc.
Invigorating Flow trait doesnt work.
I testing this on the NPC in the mist. energy skills dont heal at all.
On weaponswap sigils do not proc when you swap legends.
Hammer skill #3 (the leap and teleportback one) doesn’t make you teleport back if you go down in the process. Happened to me while fighting Claw of Jormag.
The animation is too slow to allow that to happen.

they do. At least aoe bleeding one (Earth), checked it myself
