Guild Wars 2

I’ve been playing a Ventari/Mallyx rev in WvW for about a week now. It’s definitely hard to get used to, just looking for some advice or tips from anyone who has played it quite a bit.

I’m roughly running a build similar to this one:

However I am using Corruption instead of Invocation. The idea is I can pretty-much have Resistance on demand and draw conditions from allies while surviving myself. Then I have a lot of burst AoE heal with Ventari of course.

In general, here are a few things I’m having trouble with.

Energy: In general it seems like I can barely even use weapon skills outside of autoattack otherwise I’ll use all my energy needed for more important utility skills. I would say this is the biggest issue I’m running into at the moment. Am I just going about this the wrong way? It seems like there are just not enough resources to go around.

Staff: How the hell do I use this weapon? lol. It doesn’t really feel like I can do much in fights as a melee character. Along with the energy problem I mentioned above, it seems almost useless. However I know it’s in most WvW builds, so I must be doing something wrong.

Tablet positioning: Any general tips about positioning ventari’s tablet? I’ve just been shuffling it along with the tag on pushes and maybe using the reflect in chokepoints. Any additional advice or tricks with this thing?

Thanks in advance for any tips. I know it’s not an easy build to pull off, but I’m enjoying the different type of gameplay it brings.

Thanks, that does help quite a bit! Looks like I’m probably under-utilizing the condition cleanse skill on the tablet. Also I noticed you use hammer. Would you recommend this over the Staff?

BTW I love your commander lol.

LOL i know disco so funny an i prefer hammer mostly because of dmg output you get from it. not that you can attack very often on tablet.

long range cleave is always ideal in WvW.

but overall my thoughts on staff vs hammer i prefer eva every 8 seconds vs block every 12 since meta so focus around unblockable

I’m probably not as experienced as Taobella, but I like Hammer/Ventari too. Both can be used concurrently. There is synergy between them to do a lot of condition cleansing through tablet skills, blast and projectile finishers. And they both do some form of CC!

I even use a sigil of transference on my hammer as I found I’m always switching to tablet when I start using hammer, so why not give the tablet a little extra boost… even though that 10% is entirely pointless.
