Need some raid advice for a rev
Glint is for Fury or Protection
Shiro is for DPS because of the quickness, but it’s useless if you have a chronomancer giving you perma quickness.
Mallyx Elite give you 10% buff to all your stats.
Camping Glint is always a dps lost compare to Glint/Mallyx or Glint/Shiro swapping.
Adapt to your party. If the herald you are talking to sit in Glint, they are lazy and not good herald. Not a big deal if they are lazy in low level fractal and dungeon tbh. But it’s a bit sad if they do that in raid and high level fractal.
If you don’t have a ton of external quickness coming in, you want to run Glint/Shiro. Pre-buff with Glint, drop Facet of Elements, then swap to Shiro and Impossible Odds until you run out of energy. Then swap back to Glint, turn on a bunch of facets (boon duration, fury, protection); toggle on Facet of Elements and use the active, then turn regeneration on. Maintain until you run out of energy, swap to Shiro, repeat.
If you do have a ton of external quickness (from mesmer support) then you want to run Glint/Jalis (or Glint/Mallyx, even though it’s worse but whatever floats your boat) and do something pretty similar – pre-buff with facets, go in, drop Facet of Elements then swap to Jalis and activate swirly hammers. Maintain until you can swap again (not until you run out of energy – you never let the boon duration buff drop in this version) and then swap back to Glint, put up Fury + Protection + throw the Facet of Elements + Regen, wait until you can swap again (do not run out of energy, you don’t want your boon duration buff to go on cooldown), repeat.
You can do the exact same rotation with Mallyx/Embrace the Darkness instead of Jalis/Swirly hammers if you really want to have access to the other Mallyx skills or if someone really insists on it – Swirly Hammers are more damage, more defense, and better healing with no cast time and better synergy with dodging, being stuck in your staff set, and quickness dropping, though.
Like Ensign said, or:
pick Equilibrium in Invocation. While on Glint, just keep up Fury (and Might facets if you dont have 25 stacks already from warriors) and boon duration. Your energy wont run out, just swap legend to deal extra good damages thanks to Equilibrium.
If you have a good mesmer in your team, you’d be perma quickness, so indeed no need to take shiro exept for an extra CC. I personnaly raid with Mallyx for debuff with 0cd and Embrace the Darkness for extra DPS, it’s up to you, I never tried Jallis.
Revs don’t have weapon rotations, but utility rotations. Whether you run Shiro or Mallyx depends on what the team needs.
VG: Run Mallyx if you need to boon strip. Run Shiro if you need extra Breakbar skills.
Gor: Either work here; I’d lean more to Mallyx because Gor’s breakbar is infrequent.
Sabetha: If you are doing cannons/turrets, Shiro has good burst DPS since you’ll be away from any Mesmer quickness.
Make sure when you are in Glint you use up all your energy so Facet of Nature automatically goes on cooldown (4-5 seconds) rather than consuming it (20 second cooldown).
Personally speaking, in a VG fight our Revs are brought along for 3 reasons:
-Damage
-BoonBot
-Breakbar breakers with Staff 5
For the most part you’ll be camping Sw/A and should only be switching to staff for breaking bars. You’ll primarily be auto-attacking but should also be using Axe 4 and Sword 3. It’s even better if you can time Sword 3 to evade through Blue spots rather than dodging away to not lose any damage (plus, it looks cool as well).
While in Glint you want to pop your Facets while using your weapon skills to drain your energy as fast as possible. Facet of Elements should be double toggled for its Dragon breath attack just before you lose energy. Shiro is your big damage dealer since you have quickness and extra burst damage with Enchanted daggers. In a pinch, Shiro’s Shadowstepping can help you out of an otherwise fatal Blue spot teleport. Note that it’s extremely important to make sure to fully drain your Energy before swapping to Shiro otherwise your Nature Facet being up interferes with activating Impossible Odds. Also, be sure you’re preserving energy for bar breaking. If you have a Druid/Ventari in the team you may not want to pop Facet of Light as it’ll compete with their more potent Regen (save that skill for its Infuse Light toggle).
Mallyx can be better in a perfect situation and allows for permanent uptime on Nature Facet, but it heavily hinges on a Chrono that can consistently and effectively push out Quickness. So, if you have one of those players in your team, great. Otherwise, I would stick with Glint/Shiro since it’s more reliable.
These guys make revenant sound awesome and complicated at the same time. And I have to admit, on paper, it’s the best class in the game. But this is how it really plays out:
Glint/Shiro:
Turn on facets, activate Elemental blast, spam sword1 for 9 seconds, switch to shiro, use impossible odds, spam sword1 for 9 seconds, switch back to glint, repeat
Glint/Mallyx:
Turn on facets, activate Elemental blast, spam sword1 for 9 seconds, switch to mallyx, use Embrace the Darkness, spam sword1 for 9 seconds, switch back to glint, repeat
Shiro/Mallyx:
Turn on impossible odds, spam sword1 for 9 seconds, switch to mallyx, use Embrace the Darkness, spam sword1 for 9 seconds, switch back to shiro, repeat
SOMETIMES you’re required to break some bars(this is where you’ll be using your axe offhand for like 5 seconds every few weeks).
On paper- rev is incredible strong as in very high damage, incredible support, very fun to play
In reality- rev is incredible strong as in very high damage, incredible support, the most boring class that is currently in the game, due to the fact that in a full minute, you spend 54 kittening seconds auto-attacking(aka mashing sword 1), given you do a perfect rotation.
*I got a reve, I love it in short fights, I raid with it, but everything that doesn’t die in under 20 seconds makes me log my condi warrior so I don’t fall asleep"
Revenant is best for raids if there is a mesmer in your split. Run glint/dwarf if there is. Keep F2 always active which means swap legends immediately and don’t use up your energy before that. Use the facets that would be best for you group setup. Use elemental blast in Glint. Use vengeful hammmers in Jalis. Use precision strike in boss hitbox if adds are around it. Aside from that press 1. If you don’t have a memser in the group then run glint/shiro. The run out of energy rotation is fine. If boons are covered then f2 and running out of energy wouldn’t be needed and you can proc equilibrium instead. Use axe 5 and glint elite facet for break bars. Staff 5 and shiro elite are a last resort since they will lead to a fair amount of dps loss.
